Happy Halloween everyone. There is no way I will hit a hundred this year, but it's still been a 's-ton of fun'

I actually hit 100 movies last night and that is not including the minimal TV viewings I have had this year, so I am pretty pleased!
Watched a cheap found footage this morning on Screambox that may actually hit some of you in the feels. It is called Landlocked (2021) and is a quick 75-minute low budget but well-done flick. LandLocked (2021) - IMDb
The director/writer actually incorporates his old family footage to excellent effect and could possibly make you sad and melancholy more than scared. But it has a few nice, spooky moments and the ending is great.
If you are one of those people, as I am, that see an old, abandoned or forgotten house and you immediately get a little sad thinking about how many good memories there might have been there, then this little flick is for you. Also, it may affect you if you have lost any family members and yearn to see or remember memories of them.

I"m going to hit 100 with Terrifier2 tonight! Ugh! I've endlessly badmouthed the first Terrifier for years, and I think I may have judged the poor clown too harshly. I'm somewhat looking forward to the second film.....
I have the top half of the checklist done, and I'm hoping I can meet the final half which what I've already watched.

My wife said she has been hearing this song in her head the last few days and asked me if I had ever heard it. I haven't but now it is in my head. She said that one of her elementary school teachers used to play it all the time.
Have you heard it before? Appears to be from 1969, at least per the Youtube video but she is only 43 so it appears it has gone through a couple of generations.
Now it is in your head for the rest of the day. You are welcome.

I've got one more movie needed to complete the checklist. Not bad considering I had pretty much written it off this year until Friday. Hope to get that in when I get home from work this afternoon. Then I can enjoy watching something with my wife and handing out candy. Have a fun Halloween everybody!

The Funny Games remake is very similar to the original, but I was bothered by the German version just slightly more. When it comes to A Serbian Film, it's the only movie I've seen that I can say I abhor, and would try to discourage anyone who was interested in watching it, but you might as well finish the list at this point. Sheitan is good though, so you can add me to the list of people recommending it. I haven't seen Begotten or Human Centipede II.

Thanks for the recs! Regarding Human Centipede II-- I actually liked the first one. I started to watch the second one a few years ago and turned it off in disgust. The lead character is a gross, slimy guy and everything about it was uber grimy and disgusting from the start. Not like the first one where there was some build up and the mad scientist guy was ta least nutty enough to be interesting. But I will probably sit through it eventually.
On another note, has anyone watched Be My Cat: A Film for Anne? It is truly bizarre, a dark doc about a filmmaker making a movie to impress Anne Hathaway. I found it fascinating without it being my thing at all. I won't say more, but interested in others' take on it.

From the random movie generator...
R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour: Don't Think About It (2007)
Emily Osment, a misunderstood goth teen, purchases a book from a mysterious curio shop which unleashes an evil monster that abducts her bratty brother, the popular girl, and a Papa John's pizza delivery guy -- nice plug! The monster head splitting aspect was interesting but the movie was rather paint-by-numbers. The ending had a slight twist and left the story open-ended so that redeemed it a bit for me. Growing up there was some kid-oriented horror like Once Upon a Midnight Scary (1979) -- I remember the 'The House with a Clock in Its Walls' segment -- and Witch's Night Out (1978) but nothing quite like this.
I used 'misunderstood' above only to hear Emily Osment singing that lyric in a song during credits.

Well... Amazon put Rob Zombie's The Munsters on sale at a price I was willing to pay so I picked up a copy and am tentatively planning to watch it tonight as a crossover film with the Comedy Challenge. Anyone want to talk me out of the viewing? Reviews are in the "don't bother" camp... I *do* have a few others lined up just in case...
I honestly went in with an open mind, trying to watch it just as a film and not as a remake of a classic. Still hated it. Along with several clunkers or outright abominations (for me) in the 46 film subset, this may be the ‘worst’ viewing month I’ve ever had.

Have been 100% theme compliant until today. Started the Challenge aiming hard for the checklist but fell off of that after a couple days. Was just kinda hoping that my 4-5 a day pace would complete the checklist by default. Well, close but no cigar. Finally looked at it closely yesterday and need almost 10 films today to complete the checklist. Could maybe have looked at it harder and found things to somehow fit today’s themes, but going to be pulling an all-nighter as it is and didn’t want to waste any time. Pretty sure I’ve completed the checklist every year, and didn’t want to break the streak.

Haven’t seen it, but that reminds me that I was ‘forced’ to watch his dreadful Halloween again today, couldn’t see another quick way to complete the remake on same day checklist item. My own fault for putting off double-checking the checklist for so long.

I've yet to see a film from him I like and very much disliked his remake of Halloween (though I'd call it the "best" film from him I've seen). I no longer bother trying with his output and only purchased a copy of The Munsters because I'm a huge fan of the TV show and the price was "right".

Ronin Flix is having a $5 bluray sale with flat $5 shipping (over 40 $10 titles are half off if you buy 5+).

Some titles have already sold out and are no longer on the sale list.

In the past, I've always struggled to let this challenge end, but I guess confidently say I'm ready to be done with it. I basically handcuff myself to the TV every October when not working. It'll be nice to watch some comedies and maybe play some video games for a change. Currently watching Terrifier 2, which I feel is a perfect feature to begin to close out the challenge on, though I may get one or two more in before it's over.

I had to work Boo at the Zoo tonight. I took off tomorrow, but I'm exhausted. Any relatively short theme movies? I'm picking up coffee and then heading home to see what I can manage.
