I watched way more than I thought. Still less than last year though.
Had fun like always and sad that October is over.

Before we get to purchases, you don't think I could pass up an opportunity to wish everyone a happy Day of the Dead, do you? Yes, it's another wardrobe change!
As for purchases, I got a couple floor mats. I figure they'll help with the dog tracking mud when it rains. The Halloween picture was also a purchase. The Chucky lawn jockey is a previous purchase there as evidence that I can be easily influenced when it comes to horror stuff.
Here's some wall art along with the TCM wreath. Maybe not the best description but not sure what else to call it. I also got Trick r Treat figure and throw.
It varied a little, but things were about $10-15 each, a couple items were a little more.

Made it to 139 this year. Seems to be an odd-number trend this year, didn't get to an even 140. There are just too many movies to choose from. I swear, about 75% of the movies you guys were mentioning I've never heard of.
As always, it was a blast. Thanks Chad, for organizing everything his year.

Anyone know how many challenges you complete if you watched every subset film in the list for this year?

Thanks to everyone for making it all a good time!
Participation/List Acknowledgements
Tarfirmmer's list was the one for me to watch for 'competition,' SterlingBen for pizzazz (pictures, family ratings, beers, etc), Surfinhank for graphics gusto, Dimension X inspired me with some unusual watches, and Jholmes along with WillieMLF plus Indy24LA had mini reviews that were amusing ("think the Haunted Mansion infested with a buncha Pennywises"). Also credit to Spiderbite for watching and commenting on all the subset films (even rewatching Terrifier 2); I enjoyed the subset discussion a lot.
Best People Ever
Special acknowledgement to Chad for hosting/everything!
Cheers to GoldenWheels/HamilitonBooks and Deadly Prey engaged by Toddarino for prizes; also Alyxstarr for coordinating subset films.

SterlingBen - I really like your 'Winners of Yore' image but it's nagging me that I can't remember the name of the film you list for 2020. What movie is that?

Find another list than has surefire gems like Croaked: Frog Monster From Hell, Schizohrenia: The Whore Mangler, Door 1 of the 5 Doors to Hell, Death by VHS, Bollywood Evil Dead, The Nameless, Suburban Sasquatch, Night Wars, Brutal Sorcery, etc etc.
I salute your bravery.
It's a shame there are probably a ton of good but weird offbeat films that get overlooked even here, like #Alive might be.

That's mostly standard viewing for me. Two of them were re-watches.
Almost half of what you listed were watched on tubi (free, with commercials). Apparently if you watch the crap they recommend, they recommend more crap.

Not movie related. But I finished up my Halloween with an impromptu stop at Spirit to check their clearance items.

Me and IBJoel differ widely in our taste in movies.
I have a bunch of more reviews halfway written and quite a few more daughter reviews to add in as well. Will try to get reviews caught up over the next few days along with awards.
For statistic purposes I hit the hundred (barely) and hit all theme nights.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 19th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)
I'm glad somebody was able to get in on some Halloween clearance deals. I was hoping to score some 70% off animatronics at Home Depot but nothing but Christmas decor as far as they eye could see. Spirit was a bust, too.
My 10/25 prediction could be spot on or at least close. I never properly updated my list and the attempts at notetaking spanned 2 computers, 3 pieces of paper and a phone, so trying to decipher it is a challenge in itself. I hope to have everything updated before the week's over including the best/worst list.

As always, thanks to all of you for the conversation and comments and lists that always look better than mine (still only in random scribbled notes). October is my favorite month of the year since Chad started this thing, and he’ll always be one of my favorite people. The amount of work he does for us all blesses us tremendously.
I hope to do a proper post-Challenge stat report next week, but for now the scariest thing I saw this month was the list of horror films I ordered from all these boutique label sales, which may outnumber the 125+ titles I viewed for the Challenge. Ugh.

Can't believe another October is over; time really does move faster as you get older. Huge thanks to Chad for all his work on running the gold standard for movie challenges. Another thanks to everyone who participated with their lists and comments, I watched more than a few movies based on others' lists/recommendations. And y'all got me to finally join Letterboxd, so now I can continue my inane reviews all year long.

Thanks to everyone for making this so much fun every year. I managed to get a new high of 128 with 59 first time viewings. I'd say my favorite first watches are There's Something Out There, X, Pearl and I,Madman. Worst would be Chill Factor, Fatal Exam and Hard Rock Zombies. Technically not the worst but the one I hated watching the most was Skinamarink. Just wasn't for me.

Torso was the 1973 subset film (corrected my original post) and, like you said, Libido (1965) was the Giallo subset film - I watched them both on Giallo day to cut down the subset list and got so mixed up. Ha.

and I got to see Nightmare Before Christmas for the first time, 30 years after it came out xD
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and Christmas!

I had some personal matters come up so I didn't participate as much as I wanted to. I somehow got in 87 views, 38 were first time views.
Completed the subset, theme and really pushed at the end and completed the checklist.
I had never seen Ready or Not before but I very much enjoyed it. Stay away from Ghost's of Amityville (2022).
Thanks to everyone who works hard to make the challenge happen.
Take care everyone

The 2024 planning thread for number 20(!) just went UP. A little earlier than usual.
Also, I failed to mention this outside of the Facebook post, but don't forget to....
Vote for Best List.
It's an OHMC tradition. Quite a bit of time and effort went into them, so please cast a vote if you can.
