The live action Grinch movie is awful as its not funny. Jim Carrey is just obnoxious and the Who's of Whoville are scary. They look like rat faced mutants.

It's the Christmas movie I didn't know I needed. Steve Urkel is back in animated form and even voiced by Jaleel White. It's only available digitally but I'll be giving this a rental once it's available.

According to Vudu the Urkel movie will be available for rent a week from today so I'll just watch it that way.

I'm watching Emmit Otter's Jug Band Christmas for the very first time this morning. I don't know what else to say except its just weird. The puppets don't work as easily as its seems like they are puppets controlled from above the set not below like the Muppets.

How's everyone coming along on their lists? I watched some Muppets Specials only on YouTube and the Star Wars Holiday special today.

I've watched a couple of movies and specials that I have on DVD and one of the Charlie Brown Christmas cartoons on Apple TV but still have plenty of things left to choose from. Along with some of the specials that have been on tv that I put on my DVR

I haven't watched too many movies yet, but have been watching a lot of baking championships. My only complaint about those shows is that you can't taste what they make!
At some point, I'll start focusing on my owned holiday movies. A few years back, I made the goal of watching every one I owned and I still have quite a few to go as at one point, I tried to buy all the Hallmark type xmas movies. That was before it became quite as popular as they are now, but I still have quite a few.

Haven't watched a single holiday film yet... outside a Christmas flashback episode of Father Knows Best (my current half hour comedy rotation series) which was happenstance. Yesterday I realized I'd not watched Plains, Trains, and Automobiles and A Christmas Story on Thanksgiving Day like I normally do.
It's been a very odd and non-standard year in my house (we purchased a new house last Feb. and are still getting remodeling and other work done, hoping to move in before it's been a year - going to be very close). We went to my sister's house for Thanksgiving (had *nothing* at our current house) and have zero plans to decorate for Christmas and, at most, will have my daughter's family over Christmas Eve/Day (house is full of boxes as we're starting the pack up in anticipation of finally being able to start moving non-essential stuff to the new house).

I just had my first accidental watch of the challenge. I wasn’t even looking for something to watch and decided on the spur of the moment to watch Red while I was channel surfing this morning. But seeing not only a Christmas tree at the house that Frank was in, but later seeing Rockefeller Center all lit up for Christmas was good enough for me.

Im watching a movie called Zoey's Extraordinary Christmas on Peacock. It stars Jane Levy from Don't Breathe and Evil Dead. I'm surprised that Im actually really enjoying it.

Just started There's Something in the Barn. The trailer looked fun and so far, the cinematography is beautiful.

I've never watched Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist but now I want to. It's on both Peacock and the Roku Channel. I think the only thing that might have been out of place knowing already would be
The plot revolves around Zoey putting Christmas together for her family on her own. My spoiler seemed like it was inevitable having not seen the show so it didn't bother me. Jane Levy and the cast seem to really be enjoying themselves and she's quit charming as Zoey. It's almost like an Adult Hipster version of Glee and I absolutely will be watching the show once Christmas is over.

I found this channel on YouTube that has these hours long blocks of old Nick@Nite from the 90s and they are just classic Christmas TV episodes mixed in with old commercials. It's nothing I'm counting for my list but it's a ton of fun to watch. Here's one of the videos from the channel.

Watched my first Hallmark Channel movie of the year, A Merry Scottish Christmas, with Lacey C...whatever her last name is and Scott Wolf (who is looking old, might I add, kind of made ME feel old). Pretty average fair, though watchable. No real drama here, just a cute, sappy watch.

Watching my first *intentional* Holiday film - Polar Express. I upgraded it to BR last year but didn't make time for it. The first time I saw it I thought it clunky, and the animation style somewhat odd. It's grown on me over the years as I was finally able to get past the animation style and just watch for the story, which is pretty good. I'm still not too fond of the animation - it looks too much like a video game.

The Polar Express is great up until the point they get to the North Pole and then the movie kind of falls apart.

Agreed. This is what happened with me too. The animation takes a while to get used to but once you do, the story is not bad.

Showed my kids 'Twas the Night Before Christmas (1974) and they've loved watching it, loving the songs. I wish I had thought a little more about it since they're 6 and 4, and my 6yo has been listening more intently about the plot and how Albert doesn't believe in Santa, etc....so he asked me the other day if I believe, to which I naturally said "OF COURSE I DO".

Twas the Night Before Christmas is a good special and always remember watching it on CBS. I think my parents still have it taped on vhs at their house. It's really kind of forgotten among the Rankin-Bass Christmas Specials. Anyone remember when the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were a musical act? I just watched their Christmas Special on YouTube. There's really no kind of coherent plot and the performers can barely move their mouths in the Turtle suits. It's just songs and the turtle suits are as bad as the ones used in TMNT 3.

All Rankin Bass Christmas Specials are the best if you watch the CBS intro before them.

Luckily, I believe Frosty the Snowman is available on YouTube. I recorded it over the weekend when it was on Saturday night. However, I guess the basketball games must have went into overtime. I went to watch it this morning, and instead, it was the last half of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer , which was on just prior.

Rudolph and Frosty The Snowman can be found on YouTube. I've even found videos of them including old commercials. I'm watching the Christmas Tree this morning. It's notable from the Nostalgia Critic on YouTube saying its the worst Christmas Special ever made.
