YES!

I remember paying some insane prices for a DVD with no special features. While we did have some GREAT bargains in the early years, some titles still sold for $29.99+. Its amazing to see Best Buy/CC etc. have titles for $4 on a weekly basis now.

The BB deal is pretty good though. I imagine there will be a lot of returns with Bourne, Harry Potter etc. BOGO on those and the week before they were full pop?

Sure -- and Criterion DVDs are still that high!

It would be nice if Best Buy and the other B&Ms would discount their HD titles a bit more. Bring them closer to amazon's pricing, for example . . .

Be grateful that you weren't around in the good old laserdisc days. I actually paid over a hundred bucks each for the Criterion LDs of 2001 and North By Northwest.

The Heartbreak Kid HD DVD is $17.99 on Amazon right now. Its MSRP is $39.99. Not sure if this is a price mistake or not...but not too bad.

I appreciate that, I put the order in but it didn't take the 10% off yet. I'll send Amazon an adjustment email tomorrow, should come out to about $16.20 after the discount.

Even for $17.99 I can't muster the strength to place an order.

My wife and I thought "The Heartbreak Kid" was pretty funny. Not great, but pretty funny. Just the same, that's a terrific price . . .

Anybody get Best Buy to pricematch Target online in the BOGO? What about combining HDDVD and Blu Ray for the BOGO?

stupid Best Buy at Tenleytown has hardly any of the BR discs up for the BOGO deal - can you mix the two? say one HD-DVD and one BluRay?

It worked for me earlier in the week and I haven't read anything about they fixing that (if it even was a glitch at all).

Yesterday I picked up Bourne Ultimatum (HDDVD) and Harry Potter 5 (Blu-ray). No problem mix and matching at BestBuy.

The price on "Heartbreak Kid" jumped up $10. Still shows $17.95 in my account.

Amazon has dropped the price of Underworld (Unrated) Blu-ray Disc by $4 to $15.95. If anyone ordered it recently, in the recent BOGOF offer for example, you can request a refund. How to do this is well explained by kyle in a post in the Bargains forum:
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread....74#post8300674

There may be other BD and HD DVD titles that have had price drops at Amazon in the last few days, but I haven't spotted any.

Edit: Amazon has also lowered the Casino Royale Blu-ray Disc by $3 to $21.95, and Kung Fu Hustle Blu-ray Disc by $2 to $15.95.

Before someone asks: yes, you can request a refund even if the title was part of a BOGOF order. I have done it, as have others.

For those in the Los Angeles area: the Virgin Megastore at 8000 Sunset Blvd. is having an everything must go sale. Right now, every item in the store is 30% off - including HD DVDs and BLU-RAYs. I assume prices will drop as the sale continues, but the selection won't be as great.

Giles, stop going to that store. It's awful.

Amazon has lowered the price (again) for Casino Royale [Blu-ray] to $19.95. If any of you have ordered it at a higher price within 30 days you can get Amazon to refund the difference (see my post 842 above).

Very good price for the Sharp BD player at Value Electronics. If you are an AVS member, the cost is $100.00 less than on their regular site. $319.98 shipped compared to $399.99 on their regular site.

It's being talked about in that thread. All titles (only 9 in the sale) should be $24.99.

Not quite BOGO good, but here we go... Highlights:

Prestige : £17.98
The Island : £17.98

If you were thinking of getting either of these titles, you can pick up a third one for free.

Also, Ocean's 11 and 12 which I don't believe are available seperately in the states. Now to find a currency converter...

edit: Not worth it, it ends up being about $70 before shipping.
