Stinks that a majority of the titles are for lackluster films. A couple of gems in there (KOH, XMEN, BHD), but most aren't worth owning IMO.

Good price on those outrageously expensive Fox titles. Might order a few today when I get my paycheck.

We've actually had some big sales for the format lately. Not bad considering neither have been out for a full year. I picked up 5 of those overly priced Fox titles. The catalog titles should be priced to sell for $19.99 to begin with.

Well, I just doubled my BD collection from 6 to 12!

I already have 80+ HDDVD's, so i'm kinda hoping amazon skips out on a 50% HD DVD sale.

Wow, the 10% off promotion stacks with this. I got KoH for $17.97 shipped with Super Saver shipping. Awesome.

Much like the recent Fry's "Buy 1, Get 1 Free" promotion, I already own all the good ones. But I did pick up Kung Fu Hustle, Enron, and Transporter 2 for $44.50. Not a bad deal.

And yes, the same promo for HD-DVD wouldn't suck too much.

I hope we get the HD DVD sale also. There's plenty of Universal titles that would be available for $14.99.

Unfortunately, I have to agree that the selection leaves a lot to be desired.

Ultimately, I wound up only purchasing Kung Fu Hustle, as I already have Black Hawk Down, Kingdom of Heaven, X-Men 3, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Fantastic Four, The Fifth Element, Memento, and House of Flying Daggers.

Black Hawk Down
$4.49 AR

X-Men 3
$9.97 AR

Speed
$9.97 AR

The Transporter
$9.97 AR

Black Hawk Down had a rebate? I didn't see that in my booklet.

Thanks for the post, I finally picked up Resdient Evil for about $13.50. I almost grabbed 50 First Dates, but it's not sounding so hot in reviews so I suppose I'll pass. At least 7 other movies on there I've already picked up for a hell of a lot more money.

My copy of District B13 shipped out yesterday at $19.95

Anyway, thanks for the heads up. I pretty much have all of these already, but I finally picked up Kingdom Of Heaven (I generally dislike "epic battle" movies) and The Architect, which I didn't even realize had been released. Debated on whether to upgrade my original DVD of AVP, but I don't think any version could make that a better movie.

Woohoo!!

Thanks for the heads up!

I picked up:

Transporter
Transporter 2
Fantastic Four
Fifth Element
Ice Age: The Meltdown
Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Most of those I already sold off my DVD copies! Even with the shipping to Canada it still beats the prices up here (and Amazon.com ships from within Canada so I don't pay any duties or taxes!!!)

Well, so far I got Phone Booth and Planet of the Apes. Amazon doesn't charge until they ship, right? Cuz if they charged my mom's credit card already, I'm in deep shit. I will probably also get The Marine, Speed, Transporter 1 & 2, The Sentinel, and AvP.

you know you can email amazon.com and they will refund the difference. It is part of their policy.

Yeah, I just emailed them and used that order-picker function to request the difference. Supposedly there's some rebate section where you can apply for these refunds directly, but I couldn't find it.

Just went back and added The Transporter to my order. Movie's passable at best, but it'll be good for some demos.
