I wouldn't say it's shaky cam. The camera moves but not like "Babel" or anything.

Don't worry about the songs not being subtitled. The songs that *matter* are subtitled. The songs that are just added for background are not. I have the French version and it's one of my favourite blu-ray discs.

Just thought you might want to change the dates for Grindhouse.

According to amazon.de, "Death Proof" on blu is coming out on the 30th of June, and Planet Terror on the 2nd of June.

Foreign releases have me much more interested than domestic releases so far this year.

There have been lots of additions to the international Blu-ray release slate including a leaked French Sony schedule:

http://www.releaselists.com/BLURAYInternational.html

Im starting to agree with the above poster, in that its starting to look more interesting internationally than states-side for releases.

I cannot believe TNBC has been allowed to stay out of print for so long. Even though it was a different studio, you think Disney would have capitalized on Corpse Bride's release by putting this out again.

I still have the SE DVD and an HD recording from StarzHD, but I would love to have a Blu-Ray of this with lossless.

Does anyone know if the recent UK Blu-Ray release of Black Sheep is playable in U.S. Players?

According to Xploited Cinema it is. They don't carry any non-US playable BD's from what I've seen.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is coming to France on August 13. I'd say there's a good chance the US version will arrive around that time.

Hopefully they'll fix that issue with the deleted scenes. Somehow the scenes were flagged as anamorphic when they were not, so they would appear stretched. I don't think this was ever corrected, so maybe they'll fix it for the eventual BD.

I'm under the assumption that Filmax's upcoming Spanish release of [REC] on Blu is going to be region-free since their edition of Perfume was, but does anyone have confirmation one way or another? It doesn't seem to be up for preorder anywhere yet...

According to someone who made a comparison with the Universal HD-DVD release, this edition is brighter, maybe too much because the image is a bit flat (less contrast than on HD-DVD), but has better details in the dark scenes.
Colorimetries are quiet different, as the HD-DVD tend to red/pink, the BR tend to yellow.
This Opening edition is better in audio with its DTS HDMA track.

Hot damn - I hope these aren't region coded.

Can we also hope the pitch issues will be corrected on some of these?

Assuming pitch issues were corrected on the ones that had problems I'm in for:

# Terminator 2 : le Jugement Dernier (BRD - Studio Canal)
# Total Recall (BRD - Studio Canal)
# Brotherhood of the Wolf (BRD - Studio Canal)
# Escape from New York (BRD - Studio Canal)
# Highlander (BRD - Studio Canal) (!!!!)

Can anyone confirm for me that the following BD titles are indeed region-free?

(1) Infernal Affairs
(2) Infernal Affairs 2
(3) Infernal Affairs 3
(4) I'm a Cyborg but that's Ok

I'm pretty sure (1) is region-free. Not sure about (2) to (4) though.
