I still remember Hungry Wednesday, when ConAgra decided it would sell its hot dogs exclusively through Costco. Now I needed a membership if I wanted to enjoy Hebrew National or Armour hot dogs.

Now Costco need to get off their butt and starts selling HD-DVD movies. I saw a Blur Ray 3 pack, so maybe they will start selling HD DVDs.

The Carmel Mountain/San Diego Costco has both the Sony player and the Toshiba player. They have the Blu-ray 4 paks, but also recently started carrying about 8 individual titles of each format. The individual titles are all Warner and sell for $18.99. Someone mentioned in a previous post the Sony player was $500 at their Costco, but it is about $450 at ours.

I just got back from my local Costco and for the first time ever, they were selling HD-DVDs. They had the Blu-Ray 4 packs for $84.99, but they also had individual Blu-Rays and HD-DVDs for $18.99 each.

Another vote for unecessary hysteria

My 3 movies worked fine too

Dont forget the Blu-ray player on the PS3. Several Costcos in my area have the PS3 for sale, and selling pretty well, they are near the X-mas toy aisle which is growing daily.

The local Costcos I go to used to sell HD-DVD movies and had them for a few months. Had a small section for them but honestly the stock seemed to rarely move/sell. They switched to the Blu Ray 3 packs only a few weeks ago and those don't seem to move either.

I walked into Costco yesterday and "boom" they have HD-DVD movies. Just a few of them though.

At the Bend, Oregon, Costco, the PS3 (80GB) is bundled with Motostorm for the low price of $659. They also have the HD-A2 and the BDSP-301 available for sale. The individual HD-DVD and BD titles for sale ($18.99 each) are identical. Some titles I recollect are Purple Rain, Blood Diamond, Corpse Bride and Dog Day Afternoon...which are all Warner titles.

Why bother doing much of anything at all with the Wii when all retailers have to do is tell people when the next batch of systems are available for sale? Think about it for a second - when was the last time you saw people standing outside a store before it opened for a PS3 that was NOT on launch day? And to boot those people were actually buying that same said PS3 to actually play games or watch Bluray discs?
