Black Rain Blu-ray

I've got this on regular dvd and it's a horrible transfer but what do you expect for 18 years. I was just wondering if the blu-ray is any better. I know it's now an oop so I figured I'd get it while it was still available. I tried searching for a review but nothing came out. It was released almost a year ago on bd.

If you like the movie and can track down a Blu-ray copy then do not hesitate to pick it up. The transfer is fantastic - not exactly demo material, but a humongous improvement over the old disc. And the extras are surprisingly meaty for such an "old" movie.

Here's a review:

I don't have the BD but the HD DVD, which is minted from the same transfer. I thought it was phenomenal for a movie that old. In my opinion, better than the super edge-enhanced Fifth Element BD (remastered).

Did you get the original DVD or the SE re-release with the bad cover art featuring both Douglas and Garcia.

The original DVD was awful; the re-release was great.

I've got the original released in '99 with just the trailer.

Optional subtitles for the non-English dialogue sections of the film.

I bought this movie from Amazon.com.

I notice towards the end of the movie when optional subtitles are played for the non-English dialogue sections of the film (Subtitle are off). There are not played in English but it does seem like there are played in Spanish. example: "Mis hombres me respetan, Sugai-san."

If I switched to English or English HoH it will be display in English but the subtitles will be displayed for all dialogue was is also in English.

My question is: Have I received a faulty disc? Anybody else out there with a similar problem?

All responses will be appreciated.
