I was at Wal-Mart today and saw Ashes of Time Redux on DVD. I searched everywhere but found no sign of it on Blu-Ray. I went online and all I see is that there's a presumably region free Blu-Ray release in the UK but nothing in the US. What gives?

just get the region free one. i had it, it was pretty good.

The only BD player I have is my PS3. Are the menus on the UK BD PAL or NTSC?

Per this thread, the menus work on an NTSC PS3. The extras are PAL, though.

Hmm. Get the movie in high def sans extras (due to the limitations of my PS3) or wait for an unannounced domestic BD... Crap. It's not exactly a no-brainer, is it?

I have to agree with Rocshemp that the images on the Blu-ray version is way better than the SDVD version.

I bought the SD DVD out of impulse and I'm considering returning it (unopened, of course) in hopes of a domestic BD release showing up soon.
