Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Well I'm tempted to do this but I still don't know. I might upgrade a couple of my favorites like Batman Begins etc.

I have 3 HD-DVD players so I don't foresee me ever not being able to play them.

I used to feel the same until my house was robbed and was left with no HD DVD players. At least the robbers left 80% of my HD DVD collection intact (probably couldn't physically pile in the rest of the collection into their vehicle).

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm paranoid that I'm going to screw something up and lose out on my covers without getting my Blu-ray discs. Here's the directions from the program rules.

To place your order and ship your sleeves:

a. Select the “CLICK HERE TO START” button.
b. Select the Participating Titles and/or Participating Collections you want to
order.
c. Click CHECKOUT.
d. Entire the required information and follow the payment instructions.
e. Print out the pre-paid, pre-addressed PDF shipping label, which
contains the necessary postage, which will be attached to your order
confirmation e-mail. You do not need to add any other postage.
f. Place in an envelope no larger than 8½” X 11” (i) your HD DVD artwork
packaging sleeve(s) (send only the sleeve(s), no discs) and (ii) the label
with the barcode.
g. Affix the address shipping label to the envelope and mail it.

I'm stuck on F. So yeah, I know to put the HD DVD artwork into the packaging sleeve. But what is "the label with the barcode"?

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

In your email, you should receive a prepaid label. Print it out and attach it to the envelope.

Yeah, I get how I'm supposed to attach the label to the envelope, but it says "Place in an envelope...the label with the barcode." Is that just poor wording? Because in the next step is says to affix the shipping label to the envelope.

That's what I assumed to do, but don't want them to send me an email back saying I forgot something.

the thing with the barcode is postage plus additional information about your order (an RMA code perhaps?) it is paid postage that you stick to the envelope. keep the bottom half for your records. BUT if it makes you feel better you can print an additional copy and put it in the envelope too. The directions say you should do that if you're using your own postage. I dont see how it would hurt to have an additional print of the barcode with your covers.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

i only attached the prepaid label (the bottom half of the pdf) and put the top half in the envelope. seemed to work fine that way since my blurays arrived yesterday. very happy with the turnaround...and surprised at the same time

They arrived there on 4/27... my order list is on pg 2 of this thread, post 79. All came in great shape, they used a pretty sturdy cardboard box with inflatable air packaging inside... much better than the last WB shipment I received.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I was one of the first in, shipped my covers off very first day of the promotion, was getting a bit antsy after reading of others getting their orders and I still have no CC charge.

Emailed them and was told that both Planet Earth and Casablanca were on back-order. I asked if they could ship the remainder of my order and then Planet Earth and Casablanca after they replenish stock. They emailed me back and said promotion terms say it can take 4-6 weeks for processing. So, I guess that is a 'no'...

Help a Canadian?

Anyone here willing to help a Canadian trade in some discs?

My assumption is that it will work like this:
1. I fill out the form on red2blu.com with your address, but my credit card.
2. I mail the covers to Warner
3. Warner eventually mails the discs to you
4. You mail the discs to me
5. I pay you back for shipping

PM me if you're serious about helping me out.

It will not accept a Canadian credit card.

Everything else seems right though. For mailing it to Warner, just print out the address label your friend provides, and then stick enough postage on it to cover it going regular mail. Once it hits the U.S. the prepaid USPS will kick in and it will be traceable.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I had to call them after seeing how people here were already getting orders (I got in very early when Matrix and other titles were at the cheapest)... The first woman couldnt find me in the system, we tracked the label which had arrived there weeks earlier, she made a trip to the warehouse and informed me my order would be shipping out soon... glad I called

And since I swapped Planet Earth and Casablanca (before the price increase), I was sad.
Another month I guess.

I guess it's safe to assume that's why I haven't received my order I mailed/placed on day 1 of this deal hasn't arrived yet...
