Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program
My order finally shipped yesterday (minus Casablanca, but with Planet Earth). They never "got" my covers although the post office said they arrived late April. Anyway, they agreed to honor the full order anyway and shipped it out. I did call and request that all but Casablanca be shipped and that I didn't want to pay shipping twice and they agreed. I think I got one of the "nice" reps.

Still waiting on mine. Matrix is still backordered. My order was such a mess its going to take me time after my order ships to get it right, and i still won't have my upgrade to Planet Earth

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program
This story is almost too funny, but in a sad way. I made the order for Red2Blu on the first day, 4/22 and shipped it out that afternoon. They rec'd my covers on 4/27. So I waited.
In between, I generally use only two credit cards. A Visa and an Amex. Well, turns out about a month ago my Visa was compromised. I think I can thank batteries.com for that one. And lo and behold I ordered the thing on my Visa. So I had to call up Red2Blu to switch cards. Kind of a hastle, but whatever. So today, I get a call that my Amex has been compromised. I have to call back a switch my order back to a Visa card. That's how long it's been, enough for two credit cards to get compromised. Awesome!

I emailed again today. Like the guy above I ordered and sent out on the first day. I got the reply again that there is no way they can split the order without me paying twice for shipping. Even after I called them out on it and sent a link to this very page they still insist that no one is getting orders split at no extra charge. Casablanca is the only title holding my order up.
Obviously no corporation would ever lie to customers. So, I'm now calling out all you dvdtalkers who claim they are getting their orders split at no extra charge:
YOU ARE LIARS!!!! LYING LIARS!!!!! LIAR, LIAR PANTS ON FIRE!!!!!!!!

I've finally decided to take the plunge since I've seen reports of other Canadians getting in on the deal by using someone in the US. Sucks that I missed out on Casablanca and Planet Earth, but hopefully I won't have to wait too long since everything I want seems to be in stock.
Here's crossing my fingers...

Well, Planet Earth randomly showed up at my door yesterday about two weeks after I had split my order. Never got an email saying it was coming.
So I'm good - and it only cost me a few dollars more for shipping. I'll be happy with that.

I've had a lot worse experience than this with other promos personally.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program
I think it well documented here, and other forums, that many of us are having a pretty horrible experience with red2blu, including but not limited to the following,
Failure of red2blu to notify us that they have received our labels.
Failure of red2blu to notify us that items are not available.
Failure of red2blu to fulfill orders within the 4/5 week timeframe they chose.
Failure of red2blu to fulfill orders in the widely accepted method of first in, first out.
Failure of red2blu to hold available titles while orders are waiting back-order titles, so that a lot of orders are now awaiting re-stocking of titles that were available initially and shipped to customers who placed their orders after earlier orders.
Failure of red2blu to equally deal with customers, as evidenced by some orders being split free of charge, others being split and an additional shipping charge being applied and even others who have been told that there will be absolutely no split shipments.
If you have had a good experience with red2blu, great! But, there are many of us who have not, namely anybody/everybody who had the misfortune of ordering Matrix 10th, Casablanca and/or Planet Earth in any combination.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program
I would have to say that WB did a decent job with this promotion. It basically screwed up people who ordered Planet Earth, Matrix, and Casablanca....all the rest seem to have went better. Casablanca is the biggest kicker though, as they still do not have enough stock...at least PE has been restocked.
So, WB has been pretty good, but not great. I'm disappointed since I am in the Casablanca camp....but I will deal with it.

Agreed. I got 13 brand new Blu-rays for about $5 apiece. Can't complain, no matter that it took 8 weeks. I wasn't in a hurry.

After over two months, the first 24 of my titles came today. They were packed nicely and all are in perfect shape, so at least WB got that part right. Now it'll just be how long it takes to receive Casablanca. I'm betting another month.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program
I was thinking the same thing. Even though there's been problems with this promotion, it's no where near as bad as others. I'm still waiting on my Blu-rays I was supposed to get when I purchased my Panny BD35 back in December. Granted they are free, and this promotion is costing us (even if it's just the HD DVD covers, for now), but waiting a couple of months doesn't seem anywhere near as bad when you've been waiting 6 months for another promotion.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program
I'm thinking the free HDDVDs with the Toshiba players was a bit more hassle. Took them about 5 months to get my 5 free titles. By then, HD DVD was dying. I guess the flip side is that I didn't pay anything extra for them like this promo.
BTW, I got my covers received acknowledgement about a week after I sent them...so far so good.

I thankfully did two orders and got most of my discs already, but I am starting to wonder if I will ever get my order with Sopranos and Casablanca.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program
Got my blus yesterday. Took 8 weeks, but that's ok. In the long run this is a great deal as far as prices. But a big hassle on waiting.
