The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

Re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
I noticed that Forced Vengeance (Chuck Norris movie) is on Amazon for $27.99. I'm interested, but as I said months ago that's a little expensive for a 42 year old movie with no extras. I still have my WB DVD and I recently rewatched it last year. So I'm going to hold off until it drops below $20. I know that isn't ideal for small boutique label sales, but I got to be a little picky now.
And none of those announced 4K titles really interest me all that much. I mean K19? I haven't seen that since I rented the DVD and recall it was average at best.

The Faculty is coming to 4k this year through Scream Factory. This is nice to hear as it's never gotten a decent physical media release. Maybe From Dusk Til Dawn will get the 4k treatment through Scream Factory as well.

Yeah, it would be great if Shout/Scream could get their hands on the Miramax/Dimension catalog.
From Dusk Til Dawn trilogy boxed set.
Crow boxed set.
Mimic.
Prophecy boxed set.
And there's a ton of stuff from Miramax that would fit right in with Shout Factory.

I don't really care so much about the From Dusk Til Dawn sequels just the original movie. The Prophecy 1-3 just got a 4k release through Vinegar Syndrome.

I'm completely out of the loop these days.
I don't really care for the FDTD sequels either -- they're not terrible, but are definitely surplus to requirements -- but they might as well go all out.
I did like the idea behind The Hangman's Daughter, which was a prequel set in the 19th century and that tied in with Pancho Villa and the disappearance of Ambrose Bierce.

April announcements are official.
Blu-ray
Affliction
Lost in Space (1998)
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey
Blue Giant (GKIDS)
Ultra HD Blu-ray
Rolling Thunder
The Faculty (UHD) was leaked last week, complete with cover art, but I don't see it on shoutfactory.com, at least not as I write this. There is a listing on DeepDiscount, though!

Re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
The release of Affliction is amazing. Been waiting for years for this. Thought Criterion might get the rights but Shout Factory is like the next best thing. I can't tell how many times I've watched the DVD but it's not even anamorphic, so everytime you watch it, it just fills that rectangle in the centre of your TV. It's really a great movie, with amazing, amazing performances by Nolte and Coburn. I know it's early in the year, but this is easily my most anticipated Blu-Ray release, and I find it hard to believe something will come out later in the year that will beat this. I mean, I'm jazzed to get Red Rock West, which should arrive in the next week or so, but Affliction is like Paul Schrader's best movie (and he's made a lot of great ones). I haven't even read if it has any special features but it would be awesome if it had a commentary or at least an interview with Schrader...

I wonder if they tried doing some of the FX-heavy scenes in 4K and they looked so bad they stopped.

Is that the same Prince of Space that MST3K did?
That looks like a really fun set, I might grab that.

Re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread
The same. Both PRINCE and NEPTUNE MEN were done on MST, and both we’re also released as a nice double feature DVD from Dark Sky that seems to still be in print (?). Are these two public domain so that more than one company can have
them or does Shout automatically have rights because of their MST sets? Dark Sky also released TERROR BENEATH THE SEA on DVD around the same time. That looks like it might be OOP, but it’s quite cheap now.
Incidentally, all seven of these are on Tubi for those might who want to sample before ponying up for the Blu-ray. All are in Japanese with subs except TERROR BENEATH THE SEA, which is in English (as it is in this set) because much of the cast were westerners.
Also, the MST sets have good featurettes about PRINCE OF SPACE and NEPTUNE MEN. I’m curious if they’ll port those over.
