My point was that, contrary to your opinion that Anchor Bay wouldn't announce the purchase until they had firm release plans, the evidence suggests that Anchor Bay would announce gaining the rights to a film as soon as they are allowed to (and will even announce negotiations if they're allowed to).

It's unofficial, which was my point. All the evidence suggests that Anchoy Bay has acquired the rights, but there's nothing official yet.

I was listening to a local radio program today. One of the DJs was discussing the gift exchange they did before they went on vacation in December. He mentioned he still has not received a photo he ordered from England back on Dec 5th.

So, it's just not us. Some packages got out, some didn't.

Another day, another Battle Royale-less mail box. I also have the Alien set outstanding and a package from Best Buy, both international and domestic packages on the verge of being completely overdue. I will say one thing, just to have it said aloud.

Despite the delays and excuses for the parcel services involved, the USPS hires temporary help around the holidays, and they are probably partly to blame for additional mail delays, but the same help is also involved in mail theft. They mis-feed mail to the automated machinery, which destroys the envelopes. They scoop up the contents, and then proceed to send you a clear bag with just your empty envelope, of which you can do nothing unless you purchased insurance, and not even the offer of a refund on the postage you paid. This happened to me before with a Steelbook, and it was just featured in my local newspaper recently, that they destroyed about a dozen envelopes from one man, containing family photos to out-of-state family.

I doubt this is the case, but it can and has happened.

Note to self... upgrade Amazon UK orders to expedited shipping next winter.

If it's not here this week I'm ordering from HMV and putting it in the proverbial fuck-it-bucket.

EDIT: Whoa... HMV charges 37 quid for their expedited shipping. For $55 or so on a 1lb item, that shit better be delivered by a naked Chiaki Kuriyama the next business day.

Still no BR for me either, and my zip-code sharing friend got his 10 days ago even though they shipped on the same day.

I can take solace in the fact that it seems a lot of others haven't gotten it yet either. If I was the only one, then I'd be worried.
