I'm glad I passed on the Blu-ray of the second installment when it was on sale for $10 recently. I'll be getting the trilogy set eventually.

First one only available in the Trilogy set? Fuck Fox. Way to show the fans who bought the second one on BD goodwill.

For me, these are just fine in SD. Got the first two for around $5 each. Will get this one for same. Not everything has to be on Blu.

I am in this boat. There are a few things that i just don't feel the need to upgrade to Blu. Family Guy, South Park and The Simpsons TV episodes are fine on DVD for me, I don't watch them much anyways and I have them in a special collection anyways. I also passed on the Seth McFarlane's Calvacade on Blu. I just got the DVD and threw it in with a Family Guy volume. Seems more like deleted fantasy stuff from Family Guy anyways and I needed shelf space. The only TV shows that I plan on buying on BR that are not available on all seasons are Supernatural & Smallville.

Will this be in full 16x9 HD or will it still be in 1.33:1 ratio?

I thought the second one was a complete disappointment. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the second installment was not aired on TV? I'm assuming this one won't air either. I'll just end up watching it on Youtube or something, I'm not gonna waste my money.

Yea, it finally aired, but long after the DVD was released. Probably the same strategy here. And yes, the second one did suck.

Actually, Something... Darkside aired in May, about 5 months after it was released on home video. They'll most likely do the same thing with this one.

Apparently, there is a triple pack containing the entire Star Wars spoofs that is going to be released the same day too.

SSSDS kinda missed a lot of opportunities for meta jokes in my opinion. Like the training sequence on Degobah. They intercut it with some boxing movie montage, which is kinda amusing, but a smarter joke (with Seth is occasionally capable of doing) would have been a comment on exactly how long Luke was there, or where did he learn to use the lightsaber well enough to hold off Vader for as long as he did? (The comic adaptation shows some lightsaber training scenes, but they were obviously not in the final movie).
I don't bother with buying FG seasons on DVD, but I'll likely buy this triple pack since it's kind of a unique thing.

The interesting thing about It's A Trap! is that it's the last Family Guy episode produced in 4X3. When the show comes back in the fall it will be 16X9. So really it's the end of an era for the show.

I'm in for the trilogy box set. I only have Blue Harvest on DVD; haven't bought Something, Something, Something Dark Side thinking such a boxed collection might be in the offing. And it's been a while since I got the small thrill of buying a Star Wars boxed set. I might even go the full distance and go out for this at midnight, just for old times' sake.

So the dvd came in at work for this and I checked out the back of the package and it says its 1.78:1 Widescreen, so i guess I'll try and find the bluray at a reasonable price. Even though I bought the first two on dvd.
