my fingers are crossed that like 'Frozen', everywhere else gets the 3D bluray so some of us can parallel import.

Yep. Looks like I'm importing another one. What's the deal, Disney? I just want the 3D version like the rest of the world. Is that too much to ask?

Disney usually is. I usually get from Amazon UK, but I'll check an see if Zavvi has a good looking steelbook with 3D. As long as it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I may get that.

I hate Disney. They'll be getting a letter from me about this.

Or 3D has become Disney's new way to double-dip and still make it seem like they are adding something new with each release.
And for what it's worth, they also seem to have completely dropped any interest in creating meaningful bonus features. Their first few Blu-ray releases were packed. These days, we're lucky to get an additional short or two.

Well if that's their intended purpose, they're taking a damn long time getting us to double dip. It's mindboggling how they never released the 3D of Frozen, even after the buzz generated from the rumors they would release it in October. I'm just wondering how well their 3D releases are doing in Europe and Asia since they keep releasing them there.

Such a shame. I'd totally get this in 3D despite being only mezzo-mezzo on the movie. The visuals were cool. Every other crappy animated movie gets a 3D release no matter how cheaply made it was or how poorly it did at the box office. I keep wondering what the hell Disney is thinking here.

I think The Little Mermaid was their last 3D release in the US- which nobody bought because it was overpriced, a conversion of a 2D movie and I heard it had some parts messed up as well. I would like to know if their foreign 3D releases have gotten a spike in sales from not being released in the US; they seem to be going to a lot on Ebay and at least one Amazon seller is selling the Frozen import.

No doubt they will put it in the same place as Bill Hunt's letter asking about the dubtitles on Princess Mononoke.
Like a Silver Age comic?
What is your creepy-ass avatar from?
Why should they? People clearly aren't discerning enough to care and just buy what they put out. Especially given all of the other brands they own now.
I work retail, and am thoroughly convinced I will not sell another piece of plastic, cloth, or wood which does not have Elsa, Anna, or Olaf on it for the next....well, I'd rather not think about how long I'll be there, but for a long-ass time.

the problem is that Disney isn't thinking ... at all - they just come across as lazy as to put little effort into compiling a special edition of anything for their latest home video releases - Walt would be spinning in his grave as to how it's execs are treating their new movies.
