Despite being accessible and taking orders, krdvd.com doesn't seem to ship anything. After placing an order in August and cancelling last month, I still haven't received a refund or a response to multiple e-mails sent to multiple addresses.

David Luc (tristan on eBay) is to be avoided.

i suggest there be a big notice somewhere to warn forumers not to buy from krdvd. it had been like a black hole absorbing a lot of orders but not responding to them for more than half a year and many had to resort to a dispute over paypal.

I would just like to comment on HKFlix.

I was looking for a copy of Battle Royale NTSC 5.1 Tartan and was having a difficult time find a retailer inside the US. I went to eBay (too much) and then Half.com where I found to people selling them. One was a person with no negative feedback (the one I eventually ordered from) and one was HKFlix. I noticed that HKFlix had two copies up on the site, so I questioned the seller as to whether they actually had a copy of this onhand. When I looked at the feedback, I saw many many cancellations. I got an email today saying that it had "just gone out of print" and refered me to an auction.

I will never do business with these bait and switch bastards. Using Half.com as a front to hype an auction is not the way to run a business.
Take a look at their feedback on eBay. It speaks volumes. What is even more telling is the feedback they leave for people who are not pleased with their service. HKFlix actually waits to leave feedback until the buyer has left feedback. If they are left neutral or negative feedback, they retaliate by leaving the same feedback and many times will even insult the buyer.

The danish store www.dvdpusheren.dk is closed.
They're bankrupt

Bill Geiger 02-01-04 01:51 PM

I found a website that is in English and the prices seem pretty fair. Shipping looks to be costly. Here is what it says on the website:

International Standard Shipping
Our standard method of shipping is Express Mail Service (EMS) for all shipments to destinations outside of Thailand. For international EMS shipment, the delivery time is around five business days.

The site is: http://www.movieseer.com/dvdIndex.asp?Channel=2

I was able to find the Ransom DTS / 16:9 edition there. Of course, site descriptions are just that. No one really knows what dvd is what until it is in your hands.

mrwilson 02-01-04 07:13 PM

Did you order Bill? The Korean DTS version is letterboxed.

I found a new site for new zealand that ships internationally.
http://www.gpstore.co.nz/ (R4 DVD's)
reasonably priced, I picked up farscape season 3 from them. took about 12 days to arrive

Atomsk 03-14-04 07:11 AM

http://store.fivestarlaser.com/ or http://www.motionandsound.com or http://www.fivestarlaser.com/

This store sells bootlegs. At least when it concerns anime dvd's. There's no way there can be legal DVD's of a recent series like Naruto with both chinese and english (engrish more likely :P) subtitles.

For all the time that I have known him, AutumnNights has been surfing from a library i.e. no regular home access.

The above post should prove a useful reference for his next edit, the last of which was a couple of months ago.

Their website is extremely user friendly and well laid out. What are their shipping rates like? Do they ship from the US?

www.dvdfromkorea.com keeps taking me to worldpay, but netscape and explorer don't show a secure webpage. Anyone else have that problem?

They are also pretty quick to responding to e-mail inquiries

Sorry, I doubted them before. :D
