I ordered from PARADVD, but I do not recommend this site if you just order one title as the shipping is by EMS and very expensive.

I believe that Koreandvds.com also has this title and sayodvd should, too. If sayodvd does not, you can just ask them.

CHUCKY 7...........I thought the US dvd player only plays region 1 dvd and the malena dvd from Korean is region 3, what type of dvd player do you have? I am very interesting in getting this uncut dvd, but afraid it won't play on my Pioneer dvd player. Please, give me some input .....thanks

Hey buzz, u need a region-free player. You can find good ones at decent deals at www.HKFlix.com. Or you can buy a cheap player and press a code to make it region-free, but those have their major downs. All in all, I recommend you visit HKflix.

I'm sorry, it is actually www.papadvd.com. However, this site is in Korean so I doubt you can read it at all. For now, Koreandvds.com has it for $14 but this site does charge a lot for shipping. Asiandvd also has it for $19.95 but the shipping is only $1.95. There are 2 releases, so make sure you get the Malena Special Edition.

Well, I am using a DVD player that I bought when I was in Taiwan. You can try the Cyberhome DVD players which are decent and under $100. I remember someone mentioning that there is a region free player on amazon.com for less than $40

Yes, that is the one I have now. I checked my copy again and it clearly shows R3. I believe that either Asian DVD got it wrong, or this is one of the case that it says R3 but in fact is R0.

If you click on the link you provided, you can actually see the back cover of the DVD case. It clearly says R3...

But you should have a region free player before you order this.

Hey dude thanks a lot for taking the time to answer my questions. I have a region-free player and already ordered malena and I'm extremely looking forward to it.

Thanks again!

ATTENTION REGION 1 PLAYER OWNERS!!!

Just in case you were sulking that this English subtitled-uncut version of Malena was only available in Region 3, now you can turn those frowns upside down.....after playing the special edition dvd on my Malata, I placed it in my Panasonic region 1 player and discovered that it's playable.

As mentioned above, it appears that this Region 3 disk is after all ALL Region. And believe me, if you're going to own Malena, this is definitely the version to have!!! So get rid of those Miramax copies and get your copy now:

Cheers!

P.S. As chucky7 said: there are no digitally censored scenes...it's unedited.

Some members may wish to know that the Korean R0 version and the Japan R2 version (both uncut) are transferred to NTSC from a PAL source (same film length as the Italian R2 PAL version). In terms of picture quality, the R1 NTSC cut version with proper film flags is still the best.
