Italian question?
I'm placing an order at an Italian site and I can translate everything except:
Disponibilità : 1 pz.
I guess Disponibilità means Availability, but does anyone know what pz is?

Hi fedea - thanks for letting us pick your brain! Regarding Il Gattopardo (The Leopard), you're talking about the 2-disc version, right? If so, are there subtitles on the extra features or just on the movie? Also, how's the quality? And if you've seen the dvd of Tree of Wooden Clogs (l'albero degli zoccoli -- I think), I have the same questions about that one. Thanks!

Talking about the 2-disc edition of Il gattopardo, the second disc has only italian subtitles for not hearing persons - sorry.
About the quality: very high for the image video, not so good for the audio track, which seems not to be restored so well. Anyway according to me it's worth buying.
For the other movie, I haven't the dvd, but I can ask a friend of mine and let you know.
Bye.

Fedea, I got a question for you (thank you by the way for helping us out here...).
I would like to get LA STANZA DEL FIGLIO, and on DVDLAND's website it says "English subtitles - si" - at DVD.it they say it does NOT have them - do you happen to know who is right and who is wrong?
Thank you,
Sebastian.

If you live in Europe, instead, try www.dvdsat.it or www.dvd2k.it
And, if you accept a suggestion, avoid www.dvd.it

Ok, here's about the Olmi's movie:
L'edizione de L'albero degli zoccoli è su due dischi, un DVD 9 e un DVD 5. Sul primo si trovano la prima parte del film e una serie di extra (...). Il secondo disco contiene invece, oltre alla seconda parte del film e agli stessi extra già presenti sul disco 1, due contributi filmati di Ermanno Olmi, realizzati apposta per il DVD ed entrambi sottotitolati in italiano, inglese, francese, spagnolo.

The second disc contains instead the second part of the film, the same extra which were in the first disc, and two interviews with Ermanno Olmi, subtitled in italian, english, french, spanish.
Hope this is satisfying for you.

Ciao Abstrakt.
Yes, I know about the other thread, it's just that DVDLAND's website also shows it as having an anamorphic transfer - but thank you VERY much for reminding me of the bad quality, I will - unfortunately - have to pass.
Thank you,
Sebastian.

Anyways, Need your recommendations for any exclusive films only available on Italian DVDs!
This wonderful film by Giuseppe Tornatore has never been released on DVD in the States, even though its original soundtrack is in English! Furthermore, the American theatrical (and TV) version was cut by about 40 minutes.
The new Italian edition contains the original 165-minute cut of the film; with its original English soundtrack, an Italian (dubbed) soundtrack and an anamorphic transfer.
P.S. Stay away from the Canadian edition from Lion's Gate, as it is not anamorphic.
Cheers.
