I guess Disponibilità means Availability, but does anyone know what pz is?

i'm looking for Mediteranneo, i saw it, but in a 2 pack and there seems to be a synchronisation problem on the DVD, you think you can have more info on that?

I don't use cdbox for my purchasing. I suggest www.dvdland.it: better prices and a really good service. The site is nearly always in italian, unfortunately: but if you don't understand something, ask.

I have this dvd - it is only a single disc with Mediterraneo on one side and Puerto Escondido on the other. No, there is not a synchronisation problem, the disc is good, but I must advice you it is only in italian, no subtitles at all.

I'm not so sure these movies have been realised on dvd here in Italy, to tell you the truth. And about Fellini, you can find more titles in Usa than in Italy.
Anyway, I recommend the italian realise of "Il gattopardo", a great Visconti's masterpiece, with english subtitles.

Hi fedea - thanks for letting us pick your brain! Regarding Il Gattopardo (The Leopard), you're talking about the 2-disc version, right? If so, are there subtitles on the extra features or just on the movie? Also, how's the quality? And if you've seen the dvd of Tree of Wooden Clogs (l'albero degli zoccoli -- I think), I have the same questions about that one. Thanks!

Hi.
Talking about the 2-disc edition of Il gattopardo, the second disc has only italian subtitles for not hearing persons - sorry.
About the quality: very high for the image video, not so good for the audio track, which seems not to be restored so well. Anyway according to me it's worth buying.
For the other movie, I haven't the dvd, but I can ask a friend of mine and let you know.

I would like to get LA STANZA DEL FIGLIO, and on DVDLAND's website it says "English subtitles - si" - at DVD.it they say it does NOT have them - do you happen to know who is right and who is wrong?

Only few on line italian stores ship to USA. I think the best (for customer care and shipping rates) is www.dvdland.it
If you live in Europe, instead, try www.dvdsat.it or www.dvd2k.it
And, if you accept a suggestion, avoid www.dvd.it

I haven't this dvd but I have done a little search on our on line stores and most of them say it has english subtitles. I suggest you to write an email to dvdland staff asking just to be sure.

The Albero degli zoccoli dvd is a two discs edition, the first being a dvd 9 and the second a dvd 5 (...). On the first disc you can find the movie and some extra. The second disc contains instead the second part of the film, the same extra which were in the first disc, and two interviews with Ermanno Olmi, subtitled in italian, english, french, spanish.

I have rented this DVD and it does indeed have English subtitles, although the video and audio quality are seriously lacking. But haven't we been through this before? See this thread: NANNI MORETTI films on DVD?!

Yes, I know about the other thread, it's just that DVDLAND's website also shows it as having an anamorphic transfer - but thank you VERY much for reminding me of the bad quality, I will - unfortunately - have to pass.

Here's one I'm quite fond of: La Leggenda del Pianista sull'Oceano (The Legend of 1900.) It has just been released in Italy as a special edition...

This wonderful film by Giuseppe Tornatore has never been released on DVD in the States, even though its original soundtrack is in English! Furthermore, the American theatrical (and TV) version was cut by about 40 minutes.

The new Italian edition contains the original 165-minute cut of the film; with its original English soundtrack, an Italian (dubbed) soundtrack and an anamorphic transfer.

P.S. Stay away from the Canadian edition from Lion's Gate, as it is not anamorphic.
