if you look at the image in that link you posted ... it's 4:3... on the box of the Japanese dvd! so the box says no it isnt anamorphic and I am not sure I beleve a word anymore as there has never been an anamorphic uncut dvd for years, why would this old j dvd apaer now, I guess someone is mistaken as every comparison site says its not anamorphic and the box too, even reviews in the past said it was not anamorphic,

so I will go wth the majority and say the Japanese dvd isnt! not calling anyone a liar, but really it would be common knowlege by now if there was one surley? pretty much all forums I have ever visited all agreed there isnt one.

not calling anyone a liar
Really. Then what are you saying?

I own the disc, and you've never even seen it.

It's 99 minutes and 24 seconds. That includes the end credits.

If you actually own it then I guess you must know then as no one seemed to admit they ever had it,
if its uncut and anamorphic then I guess everyone else was always wrong and the box from the dvd as well, not sure why its took so long for anyone to say they had it over the years on soo many forums, its just always been said there is no such thing for years now on all forums I go to and all comparison sites, very very strange indeed!

I think most people didn't know it was uncut. I've had the Korean disc for a few years and never knew it was uncut until earlier this year.

no wonder I am confused!

Nicheflix has the Korean DVD and lists it as letterboxed, not anamorphic. They are very good about being correct with those things. I have it in my queue.

OK, so can we confirm that Hard Target R3 Korean DVD is the uncut version? acceptable audio - video quality?

Anamorphic or not, completeness is my highest concern.

How complete? Are we talking just the complete theatrical version?

I did compare the Korean disc to the 'alternate versions' list on imdb. It's obvious by the running time it's not the DC. Some scenes listed were on the R3K disc.

Well it also depends on which country's theatrical cut we are on about as America has the hacked to bits version and its not nice at all!

There is no director's cut. Woo was dismissed before he finished editing. The Japanese laserdisc has an extended opening action sequence and also a much more violent finale. Hopefully this is the version on the Korean DVD. I'll tell you about it as soon as I can get it in my hands from Nicheflix.

still the extended workprint isnt in the equasion as its not any version apart from an early workprint.
