To California it takes 7-14 days. It's taken over 2 weeks to receive items from Canada so just wait a little longer

I usually get my dddhouse package 5-7 days after I receive the email that it was sent out. However, the mail service did take a month to deliver one of the packages to me.

If you email dddhouse, they'll just tell you to wait it out because delivery time does vary (as I had emailed them as well when that one package was very slow). If nothing arrives by Nov. 25th, then there might be a problem and you'll definitely need to email them. Otherwise, it's just a matter of waiting.

unfortunately the big uncontrollable variable is how long the package sits in customs. Ordinarily assuming that it goes thru customs with no issues it should take 7 working days or so from HK (depending on how remote you are in Canada) from the time it ships.

(BTW it takes 1 1/2 days from the time it ships in HK to your door if you use UPS International. You have to buy 25+ DVDs at DDDHouse though to be eligible).

Just be patient. DDDhouse is pretty good because they either insure or register the package. I think for packages with a few DVDs it gets registered (at least that's been my experience).

I've had a package arrive in Arizona within 48 hours of ordering... I was astonished. The rest of the time it takes about a week or so.

Thanks! That triggered me to turn off Norton and now it works. Take care, Bill.

Yea, its a lot more user friendly. I am just not sure why my Norton Internet Security won't allow me to add items to my shopping cart.

DDD House Problems

Has anyone ever had a problem with having too large an order for DDD House? I had an order of about 130 bucks and they cancelled my order, and asked to semd a jpg. of my credit card. I had never heard of such a thing and I wrote back and asked if I could split the order in two or pay by paypal and they just cancelled my order a second time....weird. Sending my cc information in picture form to Hong Kong just desn't make me fell warm and fuzzy.

Hi there,

Not only is this not a "weird" procedure it is in fact quite common when you place bigger oveseas orders. I have had the same experience with quite a few French, Australian, Dutch etailers (including one from Norway).

I suggest you scan your ID and bank informaiton and send them via email to DDD....this should solve the problem.

They simply want to protect themselves... due to the large amount of Interenet ID fraud!

dddhouse.com does ask for a scan of your credit card...but in the email they should have also asked you to block off the 8 middle digits of the card. This way they only see the first 4 and last 4 digits but they can verify the card.

I did this with my first order...and you wont have any problems after that.

This happened with my first large order from them as well.. I sent them a scan of my credit card, and they proceeded with my order.. They did not ask me to do this on future orders.. Like pro-bassoonist said, they just want to cover their tails..

I recently ordered from dvdshelf, but it looks like over half of my discs are OOS or something is holding it up.. Contemplating cancelling my order and going back to dddhouse, even though it may cost a few more dollars, I know I'm dealing with a quality outfit.

I wouldn't worry about DVDShelf. They seem to wait until the credit card transaction is finalised before stocking the items, but I have found them trustworthy and it will ship. Expect about two weeks wait through.

A long wait is what I've come to expect for Cheap international dealers. The only real exception is Amazon.{foreign domain},. If you don't want to wait, pay the extra $$$ and order from DVDAsain.com

yesasia is also good but they also take time, they charge a little more for the product but are faster than DVDShelf and charge far less for shipping. It is still over a week wait for any order though.

DVDShelf are very reliable. They may take a little longer getting the order together, but if you use the courier option (which, at least for Australia, is cheaper than regular airmail), then your order will arrive quickly and securely.

Actually, for us in Australia/NZ, Amazon Canada has become the worst etailer in terms of delivery time. If we take their standard shipping option this means it will literally travel by surface mail and take anything up to 60 days to arrive!! Other Canadian etailers such as HMV charge similar rates but their orders will arrive in 10 days.

Amazon UK however are a different kettle of fish... I just had an order from them arrive 4 days after the shipped date using standard shipping!

regards, Tim...

Had the same problem with DDDHouse on my past order (even though a had placed a bunch of orders with them a couple of years ago).

You might also want to warn your credit card company about an upcoming HK charge. Mine freaked out and declined the charge without ever contacting me and I had to reenter my whole order.

This is standard procedure. They are very trustworthy. I've placed several large orders with them (a few orders of 50 DVDs each and several 20+ DVDs) and I only had to send my credit card picture once.

DDDHouse is the best when it comes to pricing and they are very reliable. They asked for this from me the first time also. No problems since.

DVDShelf and DDDHouse are very competitive in terms of pricing when you factor in shipping - it all depends on how many items you order. IMO - both are very reliable, but some have had problems with DDDHouse (search for threads) and it has been my experience that DVDShelf doesn't always ship your complete order which makes you have to order again. Frustrating sometimes. Still - I love both stores.

I've had this problem too. The last time I placed an order at DVDShelf, I ordered 5 discs. I was only really interested in buying 1 DVD, but at the time the S&H charge was the same for 1-5 discs. So I ended up adding 4 other titles to spread out the shipping charge. They shipped the 4 DVDs I didn't really want, and canceled the one I wanted. It wasn't out of print, just out of stock. That was about 6 months ago. Since then, I've done all my HK shopping at DDDHouse.

DDDHouse checkout problem

Not sure if this belongs in this forum or the store forum. Has anyone bought anything from DDDHouse lately and had an error when checking out? After hitting "go to payment gateway", I enter my credit card information and submit. (BTW, there's no place to indicate the type of credit card used, Visa or Mastercard). Anyway, it looks like it is processing, them comes back with a system error, error code -3316.

Sent a couple of messages to DDDHouse and am waiting for another reply. Just wondering if anyone else has come across this and what they did.

They changed their site around, but this solution used to fix such an error...

if you're visiting www.dddhouse.com - change it to dddhouse.com (dropping the www) and if you are visiting dddhouse.com - add the www.
