I actually saw a copy of this when I was in Korea this Summer. I was like, WTF is this?!? It looked totally weird...actually, if I recall right, Russell Crowe is pictured on the back cover with Gollum. I really was tempted to buy it just to find out what was actually on the disc. You might also note the quote on the front actually says "Dazzlimg"! Haha.

If you think this has anything to do with Gladiator, then I've got a bridge to sell you. ![Smilie](/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Korean companies have a knack for renaming movies to be sequels of big hits that would never have sequels. I've seen Leon 2, Deep Blue Sea 3, The Abyss 2, Iron Monkey 3 and a few others that made me laugh. One that really made me laugh was Last Turbulance. Why name a sequel to a movie that no one remembers or really cares about? I really doubt Russell Crow's in it, unless they put his bio in the extras or something like that.

I know these "movies" aren't going by there real title so why is koreandvds selling these cheap bootlegs? I have known about "fake-quels" for a few years, I use to be a VCD bootlegger and had such classics as Jaws 5, Godzilla II, The Thin Red Line 2 & 3, Home Alone 5 & 6 and others at one time, I just don't understand a real company selling bootleg stuff, wouldn't they get busted?
also what was Leon 2? I never seen or heard of that one

Leon 2 is the VHS name for Wasabi. I also saw The Piano 2 the last time I was at a store. That's the name for The Man Whe Cried. People in North America though American companies' renaming of Asian movies was really bad, but the reverse happens also! ![Smilie](/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Mark, you'll just have to take my word for it, that bridge is mighty fine, and very well worth it.

How are all of you defining "bootlegs"? What if this is a legitamate release of... something... and they just decided to retitle it? Like Amelie 2 which is on koreandvds.com but is actually, "Happenstance" / "Beating of the Butterfly's Wings". Lots of movies have alternate titles, my favorites being "A Brother's Revenge" for "Gleaming the Cube" and "The Vidiot from UHF" for UHF. If the company that owns the rights overseas of a certain title want to change the title of the DVD to try to sell more copies, contractually they may have that right. And to try to capitalize on the success of someone else's work? Again, a mystery to me, but might be Korean Law that says that's cool.
The real issue is, what is actually ON this disc? I just don't quite see the applicability of the word "bootleg" and trust that koreandvds.com deals only in legitamate studio releases until someone buys it and can report otherwise.

DonnachaOne,
Well the picture is the actual cover art for the DVD, and I'm pretty sure you're right about the movie. It's probably Crusaders, the German mini-series.
exparrot, I totally agree with you. I would doubt very much it's a bootleg. It's just a movie retitled by the distributor. Like I said, I've seen tons of crappy movies released under the famous sequels label in stores. None of them are bootlegs, just crappy movies renamed to try to make movies. In fact, when I pick up such a DVD, it's fun to try to figure out the real movie being released. I remember another one, Xanda in called Fists of Iron in Korea.
I've only seen the Gladiator Second Episode DVD once in stores, but if I see it again, I'll look carefully for any of the cast or crew.

I don't think anyone is questioning the title, or title change. You are both right, that does happen in certain territories.
It's the using of another movie's images to promote a completely different movie that is certainly not legal. The image is from LOTR The Return Of The King, except they added the gladiator helmet, and changed the background a bit.

Cast and title has been changed
It's (Crociati / Crusaders)
The studios are the ones to blame about this little mishap.
pat00139 is right about studios renaming various titles....pretty common.
