Disney's Aladdin w/DTS (Region 3, Korea)

Looks like this title may be released with an English DTS track (DEHT Mix)

According to DVDfromKorea, Walt Disney Korea's release information confirms an English dts track on this DVD. The strange thing is, they also say that the Japanese dvd will have one as well.

DVDfromKorea, said they would telephone Disney to verify that the release info is correct.

Koreandvds is also waiting for an answer from Disney about the DTS track.

Has anyone else heard anything different?

According to the webmaster over @ Koreandvds.com, Disney informed them that this title will have an English DTS track.

I already submitted my preorder for the LE set.....so I hope the information is correct.

Looks like the R2 Japanese version will be a Japanese language DTS track (DEHT mix). Hate it when they do that.

Possible Bad News!!!

dvdfromkorea just sent me the following image of the Audio Menu for Aladdin:

They've contacted Disney and are trying to get an explanation.

I'm hoping that the track labeled English is actually a 5.1 DD (non DEHT) mix while the one labeled English 5.1 DEHT Mix is truly DTS.

Same bad news from koreandvds.com

Just got this e-mail from koreandvds.com:

Dear Customer,

We heard that the audio specification was changed from dts to 5.1 channel for 'Alladin' from the studio.

There are 4 options that we can do.

1. We will issue a store credit, and ship others (The store credit includes the purchase price of title(s) we were not able to fill and savings in shipping, if any.)

2. If you want, we will issue refund for it and ship others.

3. If you want, we will cancel entire order and issue full refund.

4. We dispatch your order without any modification.

Please let us know. sorry about the trouble..

Thank you for your continued shopping with us.

Koreandvds.com
So it appears that an English DTS soundtrack is not available in any region after all.

Bill Geiger's DTS/16X9 thread indicates Holland and the UK for a possible DTS release.

Has this been confirmed?

Nope...no can do. Hee hee. I just post what is given to me. I can't track everything Dave. The way it looks, however, is that no one is gonna get it in DTS. Unless somehow Taiwan releases it as such.

I gave the info to Bill about the Dutch release of Aladdin.
The press-release has been released last week and it indicated that it has DTS sound under the DEHTM banner.

It's released on October 20th.

Well the best place to order would be www.dvdzone2.com where you can buy Dutch dvd's but they are not always the cheapest.
I will keep you posted on this matter
