Like it's stated above; that sounds like a bootleg because their suppose to be R2 releases and not R0.

Here is a listing of every legit version that is/was available. Yours is not on this list.

Yeah, I second that's a boot. You should check the link I have above your post for all the legit versions.

Darn. The problem is they don't have box art at that site.

Check out this website for information on different versions of the film (including cover art) - http://www.battleroyalefilm.net/.

It seems to be fairly comprehensive, and there's a forum dedicated completely to the film and all things Battle Royale. According to the site, the cover art for the version you purchased is from the original French DVD which is Region 2 with only French subtitles, and it's the original version of the film (not the "Special Version"). Since the picture you posted says it's the "Director's Cut" at the top, it's definitely a bootleg as has already been mentioned.

Also, if you get a chance, read the original novel, it's fantastic.
