I've already seen this three times in the theater (the 3rd time being an exceptionally clean print, making the movie look even better), so I can wait for the proper R1 dvd, which I'm assuming will have way more extras the this R2/3 - not to mention, better cover art...

I know that this is incredibly nitpicky of me but I refuse to buy the Region 2 because of that cover. I know that if I did, it almost assures that I will buy a more attractive version at some point. I mean really that is the worst looking DVD cover I have ever seen.

I normally laugh when ppl complain about cover art.....but in this case it is one of the fuglyist covers I've seen. But, when it's stored in my cabinet, all you'll see is the spine. I'm very excited about getting this title and sharing it with our friends.

BTW: plug for Tony at xploitedcinema. I placed my order on Friday....within 90 minutes it was boxed and shipped via USPS priority mail with tracking. That's pretty awesome service.

Yes, it's no secret that xploited is one of the best dvd vendors on the web - and while they don't necessarily have the lowest prices, they're never a rip-off.

Absolutely!!

When it comes to US vendors that provide a wide variety of titles and top-notch service Tony is the only game in town. There isn't another cult-vendor that can beat him.
As far as pricng goes sometimes he may be 2-3$ more but when you add in shipping (for example German, Italian, or Spanish product) he is 99% of the time cheaper. Add to that his OUTSTANDING service (and the fact that you would never get a "floater") and it is a pretty simple decision where to shop for imports.

As to the cover fiasco above: I don't find it funny at all, or picky for that matter, that people complain. I am also one of them guys: if the cover is poor and the design awful I look elsewhere. Even the Japanese cover above looks terrible.

As far as I am concerned it is ALWAYS worth it to pay a few extra $ and get a stylish classy release. I've said it for years.

Ciao,
Pro-B

Hey, I still think it's funny....but if we were all the same it would be a pretty boring world. Though I don't share your need for nice cover art, doesn't mean I don't respect your desire to have interesting graphics on the outside box.

I got another email last night saying it was going to be delayed until the 29th. I'm almost about to cancel my order.

Got the same email. Don't understand how some have had theirs shipped while others haven't. I ordered before the release date. Oh well. I've almost had it with cdwow.

Usually cdwow is really good. I've ordered from them a few times and had nothing but great experiences but this time they just blew the big one.

When I cancelled my order on this same item they were very quick about it, it only took 2-3 days to clear in my account.

I became heartbroken for a second there until I found my scroll wheel and all is right again.

I am very pleased with the Sound and PQ of the R2 release. Loved the film....my wife was less impressed than I was. With only one 15 min doc as an extra...one would assume a big SE is planned down the road. Hopefully, it comes with the HD-DVD release mentioned by Universal. I will definately double dip with the HD release.
