Having just ordered my first item from B&N, I was wondering what they are like at getting items past customs? Do they ship from a European base, or does everything come straight from the USA?

My order was placed using $20 Flooz, and although the final total was below $18, are they likely to put the full amount, or the discounted amount on the package?

Thanks in advance

I don't know about a European base (I'm pretty sure it's only from the US) but I ordered a book on Adobe Photoshop and a Monty Python set for a total of about $70 and I had no hassles whatsoever.

Hawddamor!

My Hellraiser tin just arrived...it took about 10 days..not too bad. They labelled my package 'Books' and just scrawled an 8 in the value box,evn though I paid $28...no hassles with customs here, but then again my customs seem to be less anal than the UKs(knock on wood).
We'll see how long my cheap Brazil CC takes..shipped last week.
Express are always good about labelling boxes as Software,so I like them too. They have the fastest international shipping I have ever encountered.

Welshlad, the cheap brazil CC was from Barnes and Noble too, $19.99 but i dont think you can get it at that price anymore. See the sid and nancy CC thread on the bargain forum for more.

Thanks again

thanks paul b...it was the US$19.99 deal last week...wellHellraiser was my first order...2 days prior to street date, and it took a furter 10 days...that was my first experience of bn.coms shipping.Bear in mind though that if you don't use the coupons(see dealofday.com),their prices are generally higher...their shipping however is alot more reasonable, than express.com,for example,so it seems to work out.e.g.Hellraiser shipping to N.Z.:5.95,rather than 17.95 for shipping as 5 items at express.Brazil CC shipping 7.95, rather than 11.95 at express.....so it can work out better there(at bn.com)sometimes

Just to update, my HellRaiser limited edition tin was shipped on the 3rd October, and now more than three weeks later it STILL hasn't arrived!
How long can I expect to wait?
Anyone experienced delays such as this?

Cheers, from a worried

Welshlad, four to five weeks is normal for surface packages (books etc) but anything sent airmail should have reached you by now. Contact their customer service (they are very helpful, helped me out with some damaged books and I ended up getting them for free!) although I expect you’ll be asked to wait at least a full 4 weeks before they’ll look into it.

I had a reply waiting from them this morning (less than 24hrs! Impressive!) and they said I should wait until November 7th, then get back to them....

Fair enough...Can't argue with that!

Has anyone had this problem with them before? If so, what did they do? Send another?

Just to further update, they later asked me to wait until the 20th November...I have, it still hasn't arived, and I think they said they will issue a refund, as they cannot ship a replacement!

Nearly two months on, no DVD, and I'm still out of pocket!
