While I appreciate Umbrella Entertainment releasing this film, asking 75 AUD ($50 US) for essentially their standard BD release of the film and physical extras is a bit weak.
Their release doesn't even offer a new transfer for a film that is already 14-years old. Also one of the two new extras included in their release can be watched on YouTube for free.
The standard release and this Limited Edition are enticing for those who are not Region-Free (as the Canadian BD release of the film has been long out of print) but for everyone else, the UK BD is still widely available for $8-13.
Their release doesn't even offer a new transfer for a film that is already 14-years old. Also one of the two new extras included in their release can be watched on YouTube for free.

^ but they have much more on-disc extras than the Canadian which i believe is bare. i would get for the non-physical extras alone.

Don't hold your breath waiting for one. Martyrs was finished with a digital intermediate, and it's extremely rare for films with a DI to get a new transfer. It'd require reconstructing the entire movie, not just scanning elements.

I saw this Umbrella ad recently… says 250 copies!… only??? seriously… “cmon man”!
Would spring for the LE myself, sight says “ sold out” but messaged them and supposedly they will have a few on release day 9/7- gotta remember they are 12 hours ahead-

Love we finally get some extras. Anyone find a review of this new version? I searched and couldn’t find this version. Perhaps too early. It’s Australian version right?

I have it too, but barebones. This is probably remastered and has good extras. I had to get it, but don’t know when I’ll get to it. Gotta be in a different frame of mind to see a movie like this. As great as it may be, it has some horrific scenes and subject matter isn’t exactly cheery.

I guess no one else got this. It’s not even a profile in DVD Profiler. I haven’t watched it yet, but I’m looking forward to it.
