It figures the Razzies and movie talk are participants in war against Christianity.

The one with Kellan Lutz is nominated, not the one with Dwayne Johnson.

I think of this as more of a war against stupidity.

So the one with the Rock is the good(-ish) one, and the one with the guy I never heard of is the one to avoid (or at least only watch when inebriated). Got it!

Oh man. My mistake, they weren't talking about the Dwayne Johnson one. I skimmed and didn't notice Lutz's name on the screen combos category. In that case, carry on.

I hope you know I was being sarcastic. I sure as hell don't feel the need to see those films.

Left Behind is a must watch in its badness. Saving Christmas just looks annoying.

Of course - you even had a sarcasm emoticon. But I was just making a joke.

So the list always reflects who he wants to make fun of rather than who really gave the worst performances of the year.

Case in point this year: look at all the TMNT hate. I actually liked that movie, and even if you didn't, I'm sure you'll agree it's far from one of the five worst movies of 2014. Also, it happens to have one of Megan Fox's BEST performances...granted, she's not winning any awards for it, but she far from embarrassed herself.
You can pretty much tell just by looking at them the nominees come from a very narrow range of films. I assume Razzies is trademarked and someone is making money off them.

Re: 35th Annual Razzie Nominations

I like that they put a Razzie Redeemer category (i wonder if Sandler would be on the list if Men Women & Children had been well recieved..

Re: 35th Annual Razzie Nominations

The "Redeemer" category is a little too positive for the Razzies. Nevertheless, while I keep track of them, it doesn't seem like anyone who votes is required to have actually SEEN all the nominees.

I miss the Worst Original Song category also.

The Hercules with the Rock sucked too... I didn't see the other one so I can't say which one was worse.

I could have sworn I read somewhere else that "The Interview" was up for Worst Picture.

It probably made the shortlist because of all the negative hype

Re: 35th Annual Razzie Nominations

Transformers IV is nowhere near the worst picture. It's only on there cause it's hip to Bay Bash.
Adam Sandler, and his films, should never be on this list since the man is a genius. That goes double for Melissa McCarthy.

Kristen Stewart hasn't done nearly enough to be "redeemed"

We can probably all agree that Annie and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were shit.

TMNT was more watchable than Transformers IV in the fact that it wasn't 3 hours long.

Kristen redeems herself in 'Clouds of Sils Maria'

'Annie' to me wasn't that bad - of course I went into it with my expectations set very very low. (It's this generation's 'Xanadu')

It's a Dan30oly post.

And yes, Kristin Stewart was excellent in Sils Maria and Camp X-ray.

Not fair to throw herpes in that mix, it's got a bad enough rep.

Re: 35th Annual Razzie Nominations

And the winners are:

Worst Picture
"Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas"

Worst Director
Michael Bay, "Transformers 4: Age of Extinction"

Worst Actor
Kirk Cameron, "Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas"

Worst Supporting Actor
Kelsey Grammer, "Expendables 3," "Legends of Oz," "Think Like a Man Too," "Transformers 4: Age of Extinction"

Worst Actress
Cameron Diaz, "The Other Woman" and "Sex Tape"

Worst Supporting Actress
Megan Fox, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"

Worst Screenplay
"Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas," written by Darren Doane and Cheston Hervey

Worst Remake, Sequel, or Rip-off
"Annie"

Worst Screen Combo
Kirk Cameron and his ego, "Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas"

Redeemer Award
Ben Affleck: From Razzie "Winner" for "Gigli" to Oscar darling for "Argo" and "Gone Girl"

Of the winners, I've seen Annie, Sex Tape and The Other Woman (that one was OK for what it was.) I have the 3D Blu-Rays of Transformers and Ninja Turtles which I'll have to make time to watch soon. I don't know why the full title of the winner is "Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas" when Kirk Cameron did not write, direct or produce it.

I typically don't hold much stock in what professional critics (and/or wannabe critics) have to say about movies. They love to pick movies apart for flaws then condemn them for those flaws (and they love to hate Michael Bay for some reason). I tend to agree with the average ratings given by real people who watch movies to be entertained, Age of Extinction got 4 out of 5 stars at Amazon after 2.818 reviews. I agree. I found AoE to be a fun and entertaining movie, glad to have it in my collection.

Re: 35th Annual Razzie Nominations

The characters in Age of Extinction made me long for Sam Witwicky. Not a horrible movie, but still not that good. The human characters have always held back the franchise from being really good. That, and they're all too long. Fun, sure, but too long. Still better than the new Ninja Turtles turdfest. I'm glad I merely rented that one. Yikes.
