For Baron Harkonnen? He's the right age. The Baron is 83 when
, so at the beginning of Dune (which takes place over many years) a 68 year old Skarsgaard (at time of filming) is fine.
EDIT: Spoilers in case you haven't read a 54 year novel or 35 year old movie

Oscar Isaac in Talks to Join Timothee Chalamet in ‘Dune’ Reboot
By JUSTIN KROLL @krolljvar
Oscar Isaac is the latest star in negotiations to join Legendary’s “Dune” reboot, sources tell Variety. He will join a cast that includes Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgard, and Charlotte Rampling.
Isaac will play the father of Chalamet’s character in the movie. “Arrival” and “Blade Runner 2049” filmmaker Denis Villeneuve is directing and is co-writing the script with Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts.
Legendary closed a deal with the Frank Herbert estate in 2016 for his famous novel, granting the studio rights to both film and TV properties. The project will be produced by Villeneuve, Mary Parent, and Cale Boyter, with Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Thomas Tull, and Kim Herbert serving as executive producers. Kevin J. Anderson will serve as a creative consultant.
Set in the distant future, “Dune” follows Paul Atreides, whose family assumes control of the desert planet Arrakis. As the only producer of a highly valuable resource, jurisdiction over Arrakis is contested among competing noble families. After Paul and his family are betrayed, the story explores themes of politics, religion, and man’s relationship with nature, as Paul leads a rebellion to restore his family’s reign.
Isaac has a busy year ahead of him. Up next, he is starring opposite Ben Affleck in Netflix’s action thriller “Triple Frontier.” He will also appear in the next “Star Wars” entry, which bows in December, as well as Sony’s animated “Addams Family” movie. He was most recently seen in “Operation Finale,” which he also produced.
He is repped by WME and Inspire Entertainment.

I thought I saw something yesterday about them possibly casting Christian Bale as Duke Leto which would have been better. Isaac would be good for Duncan Idaho though.

Oscar Isaac as Leto?
No fncking way!
That's not even CLOSE to being right.
I was willing to let the other choices slide, but this?
I'm calling DV right now...

Josh Brolin Joins Timothee Chalamet in All-Star 'Dune'
How much spicier can things get on Arrakis?
Josh Brolin has closed a deal to join the all-star cast of Dune, legendary’s adaptation of the sci-fi novel by Frank Herbert that is being directed by Denis Villeneuve.
The lengthy roll call already includes Timothee Chalamet as the lead character, Paul Atreides, as well as Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling and Javier Bardem. Zendaya and Oscar Isaac in talks to also join the lineup.
Dune, considered a sci-fi literary classic, tells the complex story of a fallen noble family's attempt to control a desert planet named Arrakis and its export, a rare spice drug, even as it is betrayed by a galactic emperor.
If a deal makes, Brolin will play Gurney Halleck, a troubadour-swordsman loyal to the family who is instrumental in the wakening of Atreides’ cosmic powers which will start a revolution.
Dune is eyeing shoots in Budapest and Jordan starting this spring.
The film's script was written by Villeneuve, Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts. Villeneuve is also producing, along with Mary Parent and Cale Boyter.
Brolin returns as the universe-ruling, gem-loving Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, which opens April 26. He is repped by CAA.
