Looks like the studio (and Hasbro) are happy with the almost $290 million to date take of G.I. Joe.
According to the latest round of Q&A's from fan sites to Hasbro, Paramount has confirmed to Hasbro that a sequel is going forward.
3.) Has the box office receipts of GI Joe: Rise of Cobra met or exceeded Hasbro's expectations? Are they enough to officially green light a sequel?
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra box office results are strong globally, and Paramount has confirmed that there will be sequel.

More Brendan Fraser as Sgt. Stone is a must. I didn't hate Tatum so I don't mind seeing Duke return. But I want Flint in the sequel. Have Jensen Ackles as Flint tearing shit up with Brendan Fraser and you'll have a kickass sequel.

Just as long as JGL is back as Cobra Commander (with a fixed voice because his Vader attempts were a little much, even for Cobra), I'll be there opening day.

I still think Tatum is too boyish to be a leader of the JOEs. Duke was a man, Tatum is too young. Alas...I can't see them booting him out, based on how these films don't ever boot out the lead actor.

Too bad they couldn't get him for The Expendables, I guess that re-animation fluid costs an arm and a leg and Millennium Films doesn't have the dough Paramount has.
