I've done a bit of research and it seems like these kinds of movies with newbie directors rely heavily on the AD or 2nd unit director, who often has a lot of experience. The Amazing Spider-Man's 2nd unit director was Vic Armstrong, who is one of top action/stunt co-ordinators in the business. Seriously, check out his filmography on IMDB; it's very impressive! So I expect JP4's behind the scenes director will be a similar veteran to help out the main director.

I would also be very interested in knowing the process that say Gore Verbinski went through to do Rango, or Brad Bird to do Ghost Protocol. Both movies turned out great, and they certainly brought their respective talents to different mediums.

Interesting, that makes sense. I'd also guess that the DP also does a lot of the heavy lifting as well.

I'm waiting for a movie about dinosaurs who have gotten more athletic, rather than smarter, and are able to run around jumping over things, sliding under things, and climbing walls ... Jurassic Parkour!

Jurassic Park returning to original island.
"Trevorrow has now updated his Twitter account with a photo of a place where the director is planning to film. Along with the photo, he wrote: "Nublar."

Not a surprise...
Universal had its big budget dino sequel set for June 13, 2014. But director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) had only come aboard in March, leaving a narrow window for production on the CG-heavy pic. “In coordination with filmmakers, Universal has decided to release Jurassic Park 4 at a later date giving the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal’s beloved franchise”, the studio said today in a statement. “We could not be more excited about the vision that Colin Trevorrow has created for this film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise’s storied history”. A new release date was not announced.

Eh, I'd rather they take time than rush to meet an arbitrary date.

Assuming they do it right, that is one aspect I think would be cool to explore in the newest movie. Having the characters going through the same buildings and places as they did in the first movie but now with the jungle growing all around it from being uninhabited for all these years.

It's being shot in 3D which doesn't bode well for a decent story. Just a bunch of dinosaurs running at the screen.

I'm just glad they're rushing this into production, hopefully they don't waste time trying to hone the screenplay, just focus on getting as many dinosaurs as possible up on the screen with non stop action, and explosive carnage.

Will the velociraptors have feathers?

JURASSIC PARK 4, set in present day Isla Nublar, is now an actual theme park, as originally intended by John Hammond in the first film. It garners 10 million visitors per year and is completely safe - until it's not. The park itself is described as very Sea World-esque and includes an area called the Isla Nublar Lagoon. That means underwater dino's for the first time. No indication of what kind, but there's concept art showing one of the aquatic dino's, as part of a show, jumping out of the lagoon and eating a strung up great white shark like it was a fish for a dolphin at sea world.
As part of a show, you ask? That's right, folks, this will feature "tamed" dino's. In fact, our source indicated that the usually menacing Velociraptors (which will finally be muzzled, along with the T-Rex - until they're not) will actually be used to help fight the threat, which begins in the form of a new dinosaur, not seen in any of the previous films (and not disclosed to us) shows to be much smarter than originally thought and is the main cause of havoc breaking out at the park.
So, to sum it all up, JURASSIC PARK 4 will take place back on Isla Nublar with a fully operational dinosaur theme park (I'm sure no expense was spared) that's both prosperous and safe, until a new dinosaur figures out a way to wreak havoc, causing the use of the now tamed Velociraptors (and T-Rex? Unclear) as a means to fighting the threat.

I'm going to speculate that the new Big Bad will be the Utahraptor, a dino about twice the size of the Velociraptors as seen in the films (which are based more on Deinonychus). The "raptor" dinos all had massive
