It would be cool if they surprise us and the kids get eaten in the first 10 minutes.

Re: Jurassic World (2015, Trevorrow)

Hot off his breakout performance in “The Kings of Summer,” Nick Robinson is in talks to join the cast of Universal’s “Jurassic World,” an individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap.

Robinson has an offer to join Bryce Dallas Howard and “Insidious” star Ty Simpkins in the Colin Trevorrow-directed sequel to Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park.”

Robinson is expected to play Simpkins’ older brother in the 3D film, which Universal will release on June 12, 2015.

Spielberg is producing with Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley. Trevorrow will direct from a script he wrote with frequent collaborator Derek Connolly.

Robinson, who stars on ABC Family’s “Melissa & Joey,” earned strong reviews for leading turn in Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ coming-of-age comedy “The Kings of Summer,” which CBS Films released earlier this year.

He’s repped by UTA, Principato-Young Entertainment and the Savage Agency.

They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of casting, it seems.

I don't know. Those 2 kids were some of the standouts this year for me (in terms of young performances). I thought the one from IM3 was memorable. And the one from Kings of Summer was excellent in that imo. I'd recommend checking it out if you haven't.

I don't care that much about casting as long as they work well within the movie and doesn't distract.

I didn't realize the little boy from IM3 was one of the kids cast. He's cool.

Acting is probably the least important part of these movies. As long as you can run and scream, you're good to go!

That would be a shame if true. Especially after I recently revisited the original. Yeah, the kids were screaming and crying but their overall performances during the character/story buildup moments were actually very good.

I remember people saying the same thing about the first movie. "Samuel L. Jackson? Who the hell is that?!"

Really? I already knew who he was by the time I saw that movie in theaters. Who didn't know the would-be thief from Coming To America?

I really have zero interest in a Jurassic Park movie without Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, or both. I'm sure Universal thinks it's all about the dinosaurs, but it's all about the characters for me.

It would be great if they got Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern (in more thank just a mostly pointless cameo) back for this outing. Heck, I'd even want Richard Attenborough (if only in a cameo). Although that last bit is highly unlikely due to his poor health.

I am probably in the minority but I love the 3rd Jurassic Park and hate the original. The plot is stupid and who cares much about charecter development in a film about dinosaurs its like caring about set design in a porno.

^ don't you need to change your location to "jail"?

I liked 3 a lot. I just thought the ending was anti-climactic. I too would have loved to see Dern have a real role and not just a cameo.

I say the hell with Goldblum and Neill returning, just get Samuel L. Jackson back.

We never did see him die. You can live without an arm.

Yeah, Dern should have shown up on the island with a small rescue team instead of the entire Navy fleet which was dumb anyway.

Re: Jurassic World (2015, Trevorrow)

Josh Brolin is in early talks to star in Universal’s “Jurassic World.”

Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson are also in talks to star in the Jurassic Park reboot. Colin Trevorrow is directing the pic and also will co-write the script with Derek Connolly.

Plot details are unknown at this time but it is known that Robinson would play Simpkins older brother in the pic.

Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are producing.

Like many other actors for this film, Brolin was being looked at early in the process before production was delayed for rewrite purpose. The pic is set to bow June 12, 2015.

Brolin, who is repped by CAA, can be seen next in Spike Lee’s “Oldboy.”

What's the deal with all these articles announcing who an actor is repped by? So annoying.

I want them to do an ocean-based Jurassic Park with mosasaurs, plesiosaurs, and ichthyosaurs.

Just don't call it Jurassic Water Park.
