I predict this movie will do very well this weekend. Not only is it getting good reviews, it's also the first family oriented movie to open from a major studio since Christmas . Add to that the fact that this is the first weekend many people will have dug themselves out of the snow ,it can really make some cash. The fact that it's aimed at young girls and has a Frozen short will help too, no doubt.

Visually it looks very good. Looks like they hired the right director in Branagh. Personally I would have prefered they went with another actress for Cinderella, they should have found someone much more beautiful. I think Amber Heard would have made a great live action Cinderella.

^ Perhaps, but I don't think she has quite the acting chops they want. Also, something weird about Cinderella being played by the wife of Jack Sparrow.

(Bloomberg) -- “Cinderella” is outpacing last year’s “Maleficent” in advance ticket sales, according to Fandango, a sign another hit is taking shape for Walt Disney Co.’s movie studio.
The film, a live-action retelling of the animated Walt Disney classic from 1950, is scheduled for release on March 13. “Cinderella” is fetching a higher-than-average number of tickets per transaction, suggesting families are planning to go together, according to Fandango.
Disney has made revivals of children’s classics a key part of its movie strategy, along with superhero films from Marvel comics, a new Star Wars trilogy and its traditional stronghold in animation. Fans attending “Cinderella” also get to see “Frozen Fever,” a new animated short based on characters from the studio’s 2013 hit feature.
“Cinderella,” with a $95 million budget, is forecast to produce opening weekend ticket sales of $64 million in the U.S. and Canada, the current estimate of BoxOffice.com. The film could take in $202 million in its full run in North American theaters, BoxOffice.com estimates.

I looked this up on IMDB and learned the hot one playing Pocahontas is Nikki Mejia. I hope to see more of her in the future.

Turns out Whitney Avalon is a busy lady doing bits here and there. Her site shows her do stuff in various things. I think I saw one of those commercials.

Heh.
I also saw this Cinderella today. I dunno. It's not bad. Maybe I'm just not a fan of the ladies get saved by a guy type of thing.
Weirded me out seeing such happy black people in this setting. Took me out of it for a second. Also.. Asians too. I dunno. It made chuckle. I guess that's cool.
Nice to see Skarsgard in a flick.
I guess it's a B. Kind it could have been condensed a bit more. Felt a bit too long but I'm not sure wtf the running time was. Just felt like it could have been shortened.
I was just left unimpressed. I own the Disney animated film on BD. It's been awhile since I've seen it but something about that one's take of the same story essentially just felt better.

Yeah. I mean. If it was like a clean 90 minutes. Probably would have been better. Just felt like they just slightly elongated everything to make it feel like it had more depth or something.
Also the Frozen short was mediocre. Cute little snowmen though. But eh.

Happy black people in this setting. Happy black people, I've no issue with. Just.. seemed weird that there would be black people being part of the common people in this land. Even more so that they'd let a black girl try the shoe on. Which doesn't even make sense cuz we all saw that the girl in the blue dress was white. Again... I'm not really sure WHERE this takes place but... that irked me a bit. Also there were Asians here too. The people COMING INTO the Kingdom made better sense but I don't think black people coming in would be so welcomed either for the situation that they were allowed to come in as well.
It just really bothers me when racial things like that are allowed, fantasy Kingdom setting or not, cuz whatever time period this was... I'm pretty fucking sure it wasn't a grand ole time being a black person. It's like Disney washing little racial history there and there, again... fantasy setting or not.

I thought the added depth worked great - this is a magical Disney movie from start to finish. Branagh nails it, the cast is nearly perfect and the production design was spot on - I'm glad to see Disney spending cash on something like this, that turns out GREAT instead of overinflated shit like Maleficent. Seriously impressed by this and didn't feel it was too long at all, moved at a good clip, stayed true to the story but brought a little more to the table. I also liked Frozen Fever for what it's worth. 4/5

My family went and saw this yesterday and we loved it. The showing we were in was packed. Not a empty seat in the whole room. The next showing had people lined up out the door. I'm glad we went when we did. I would have hated to be standing in that line.

Yeah I have to say I was quite surprised how much I enjoyed this... Cate Blanchette was terrific as Lady Tremaine, and it was miles better than the dreadful Alice in Wonderland and Maleficent. The Frozen short was ok, but I didn't like the song in there at all.
