Victor Frankenstein is an upcoming American horror film based on contemporary adaptations of Mary Shelley's 1818 novel Frankenstein. It is directed by Paul McGuigan and written by Max Landis. Starring James McAvoy as the titular character and Daniel Radcliffe as Igor, the film is expected to be released by 20th Century Fox on November 25, 2015.
Told from Igor's perspective, it shows the troubled young assistant's dark origins, his redemptive friendship with the young medical student Victor Von Frankenstein, and become eyewitnesses to the emergence of how Frankenstein became the man who created the legend we know today

My taste in movies has always been a bit odd. I enjoyed the trailer. I won't go out to see it but I will absolutely get this on blu-ray.

I like the idea of Frankenstein going from a scientist who means well to one whose obsession has gotten the better of him. A lot of Frankenstein movies overlook that simple aspect and focus on monsters.
Like MasterofDVD said, I won't see this in the theater but I'll check it out on blu-ray.

Looks interesting and I like how they don't show the monster. If nothing else is out around this time and I want to see a movie, I'll probably check it out.

I'd probably see this in the theater.
I still want a Frankenstein film via Guillermo del Toro.

Yes, they use the REVERSE of that joke in this version of the trailer...

Is this part of the classic monster shared universe Universal was planning with Dracula Untold?

I liked the director's first 2 films (Gangster No. 1 & The Acid House ), but he has been mostly miss since then.
Not having high hopes for this

The indoor scenes look good, but all the outdoor scenes have that too-pretty 'CGI world' look. I usually end up hating any of the bigger-budgeted, CGI-laden, gothic horror films that all have that same sort of 'CGI noir' look... things like Underworld, Van Helsing, Dracula Untold, I Frankenstein...

I watched this for the first time last night and quite enjoyed it. It looks and feels very old school but also modern, and I'm glad they didn't turn it into tiresome and overstyled superhero-ish slick-visual crap like I Frankensten, Priest, Van Helsing etc.
Acting was decent and there are even a few intentional laughs. The "monster" was rather cool.
