Just tuned in for the last two awards, and I don't think I would've believed it if I hadn't seen it live.

Jesus. Great for Moonlight, but I feel bad for the La La Land people. What a colossal fuck up. Some people's careers are fucking over.

Ah, it was Jordan Horowitz that made the announcement. It would have been his first oscar (for Producing on La La Land) so that probably stung a little.

Why didn't Warren just say he had the wrong envelope? Instead he gives it to Faye and throws her under the bus

This seems exactly right. He even double checked the envelope.
Won't stop people from saying stupid shit about this for years from now.

It's going to turn out that the accounting firm responsible for the envelopes is from Russia.

Yes. Anyone who has a degree in envelope stuffing, this here is your chance to get in at the highest possible level.

Why show it to her if he knew it was wrong? Just say I think I have the wrong envelope...

Does anyone wonder now if the ballot was rigged for Emma Stone? Isabelle is a much better actress and gave the best performance among the nominees. Someone needs to tweet Jill Stein to get a fundraiser going for a recount of best actress.

I think that was the worst thing about the whole fuck up. The producer for the losing film ended up announcing the winner. Ouch.

He probably gave it to her to confirm what he was seeing. He didn't think she was going to announce the damn title.

True, on the bright side apparently that whole group is pretty tight (The producers for La La Land and Moonlight are the young-ins in Hollywood, mid-thirty year old producers)

And by friends I mean they're going to be undermining each other now moving forward.

To combat #OscarSoWhite, they decided to let Steve Harvey announce the best picture winner.
