TOLKIEN explores the formative years of the orphaned author as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a group of fellow outcasts at school. This takes him into the outbreak of World War I, which threatens to tear the “fellowship” apart. All of these experiences would inspire Tolkien to write his famous Middle-Earth novels.

Peter Jackson probably thought it was crap.
I am a sucker for a prep school drama but this was boring and it does not really show how he came up with the LOTR premise until the end.

As much as I liked the cast this moved at a snails pace. I love Middle Earth and the series of books and movies and I thought this would go into him writing the books. Not at all its him doing not much of anything and then at the end when it gets to what people expect the credits roll. this really had potential to be a great bio-pic but it focused on the most mundane part of his lift and I can't fathom why.
