What movie would get you back into the theater? (Sep 2020 through 2021 or beyond)
this was brought up in the Wonder Woman 1984 thread and thought it would be interesting.
as much as i would love to see Wonder Woman around x-mas time or early 2021. would also love to see Dune on the big screen. i just don't and won't feel safe until we are all, or at least myself, are vaccinated at least. i don't know, i really want to, but i also don't want to die. tough choice...

Probably my most anticipated at the moment is The Batman. So I’d go with that. That’s still over a year away anyways so at that point maybe I’d consider going out to a theater. Depends on how things are by then though.
Either that or No Time to Die. That one would be more shakey though given how things currently are. I don’t see myself going out to that in November (if it actually releases).
I went to a re-release of Wonder Woman, but it wound up being only my girlfriend and I in the theater anyways.

I mentioned it in the other thread but it’s Top Gun for me. It seems like it is the only film in the next year or so that truly needs to be seen on the big screen.
I’m looking forward to Bond as much as the next guy but looking back, I think Skyfall is the only Craig Bond film I’ve seen in the theater. The rest I waited for Blu-ray.

A new Tarantino movie, although I doubt we'll get one for two or three years.

Does the release date have any effect on your decision? Top Gun won't come out until next Summer by which time there will (hopefully) be a vaccine. Does that enter into anyone's choice? Because while I am not that into Top Gun 2 as a movie I assume it will be very safe for me to go to the movies by then while I am assuming that I would accept a little risk in order to watch the new Bond flick.

All that rolled up and I can honestly see myself not returning to theaters until next summer. Of course going to the movies has always been a big part of my life so I want to see theaters succeed and it would crush me if theaters ended up not surviving this pandemic.

Having a GOOD THEATER here would get me to go back.

The movie that gets released AFTER a vaccine (that we can all trust) is administered to all US Citizens.
AKA, nothing until people stop dying at such an enormous rate. If we still have to wear masks just to sit in a theater, then no one is ready.

I've now seen 2 movies since theaters reopened in my area this week. Peninsula and Tenet today. No issues whatsoever. Everyone was masked up. And the people who I saw there seemed happy to be back. There was hand sanitizer and wipes everywhere. And I was in a room with 25 people and aside from snacking in spurts (which is allowed with concessions), everyone was respectful to the rules and wore their masks.
It really didn't take a certain movie to get me back. I just wanted to finally have the option to do something outside of the house aside from going to the grocery store, exercising, getting take out, going to the bank or filling gas in my car.
I really don't enjoy staying at home all day. It sucks. I already did almost 5 months of it. I like going outside, going to the movies, going out to eat. As long as cases keep going down in my area, which they are and there are rules that will help keep me healthy until a vaccine, I'll look forward to more things to do as permitted by my County.

Black Widow. I haven’t missed 1 MCU movie in a theater yet.
