This movie was a big money loser for Apple and not well reviewed. You need to spend even more money to hire a quality editor, audio and other post production people to cut the longer version. And then you have to promote it. Probably not worth it for Apple. This is not the early DVD days where studios had loads of cash laying around to make longer versions like what Scott was able to do years ago.

Eh, it's that same article that World of Reel posted, with zero corroboration from the studio. Sucks if true, but I'll wait and see.

Realistically, I don’t think anyone is dying for a 4 hour cut. People have moved on from this movie. Ridley is already in post for Gladiator 2.
