Re: What's the most extreme R-rated (or worse) movie that you've seen little kids attend?
Not many stand out for me, the more extreme horror films in Canada usually get an R-rating, which is similar to NC-17, where no one under the age of 18 is allowed in.
But Pulp Fiction does stand out for me. I saw it at a discount/second run theater in downtown Buffalo, and the theater was filled with entire families, including toddlers, with big grocery bags full of snacks. Most of them were black families, and when Tarantino's "Jimmy" character went into his n-word filled tirade, I sank down in my seat a bit.

I remember seeing DJANGO UNCHAINED at a Noon showing on Christmas Day 2012 with a packed house, all black except for me and lots of families with kids. Many were dressed up as if coming from church. My impression during and after the film was that a good time was had by all.

Saw a guy take his young daughter (who I think was like maybe 8 or 9) along with maybe his 12 YO son and a couple of their friends to Deadpool.

When I was a kid in the 1960s I went to see the Bond films with my dad. None of my friends were allowed to go see them. In 1969 when OHMSS was released I was 11. My dad and I were going to see it and a friend of mine came along. He'd never seen a Bond movie. Later, this friend was acting out the fighting scenes from the movie with his little brother and broke his arm. He was forbidden to play with me after that because his parents considered me a bad influence.

That is how my mom acted when I was a big wrestling mark and she thought I was doing moves on my brother but I never did a flying elbow off the couch

Saving Private Ryan. Was a preview screening and some mom brought two children under 8 years of age to the film.

I saw a Dad with his 9 or 10 year old boy at a showing of Midsommar. I would've loved to see an exit interview from those two!

Yeah, if one of those kids cried during the scene where Adam Goldberg gets a knife slowly pressed into his heart, then the mom could've shouted, "You can act like a man!"

I wonder if these parents are hippies or open-minded or they do not bother to do the research or check the ratings of the movies they take their kids to watch?
Jason Sudekis said his dad took him to Beverly Hills Cop as a kid and it inspired him to do comedy so it is not always a bad thing.

I've been watching horror movies since I was in elementary school. The Hostels wouldn't have bothered me, but I think I would have bored out of my mind watching Midsommar.
First horror movie I saw in a theater was Christine when I was seven or eight. That, and National Lampoon's Vacation were the first two R-rated movies I saw in a theater. But I did watch some horror films on HBO before that... I distinctly remember watching Piranha a few years before that on a little 13" tv at relative's house.![LOL](/images/smilies/lol.gif)
I was reading Stephen King novels when I was in the fifth and sixth grades. I remember one of my teachers being kind of freaked out when I brought my It paperback to school one day. Also read Clive Barker's Books of Blood around that time, too, the ones with those awful Halloween mask covers.![LOL](/images/smilies/lol.gif)
I was a very precocious child and my family was really hands-off with the thing they let me read, watch, and listen to.

I vividly remember many children under the age of 10 showing up at the opening night of South Park: The Movie. I think it caught many parents by surprise with how much more extreme the movie was than the regular show.

Some of my first memories of going to the theater were to see Aliens and Robocop. I was 5 and 6 repectively.

I wonder if any uncles brought their young nieces and nephews to see it.

I don’t see many ‘R’ Rated, gory movies at the theater but I remember watching a little kid lose his ever-lovin’ mind when King Kong fell off the Empire State Building in Peter Jackson’s King Kong. It was only PG-13 but based off that kid’s reaction, I assume he’s in therapy now.
Not the theater but when I was younger my parents rented the VHS of Exit to Eden for family movie night, thinking it was going to be a silly Dan Aykroyd comedy. They turned it off right about the time Dana Delaney rubbed her soggy muff on that dude’s back.![LOL](/images/smilies/lol.gif)

That's funny about Exit to Eden. Even with the cover of the VHS? Because to me it was the opposite. I thought it would be a lot more explicit than it ended up being.
I saw Robocop in the theater which means I was 11. That's the worst one I remember going to but my parents had all the cable channels and let me rent whatever I wanted, so it wasn't a big issue for me.
That said, I cannot count how many rated R movies I've seen 10PM or later showings and people bring their fucking kids. It's why I only go to the Alamo now.

That was one of my earliest memories of seeing an R rated movie. First, once again, seeing that one boob in the changing room was like I just committed a crime.
I remember shaking after Murphy’s shooting. And to a lesser extent, ED209 shooting the board member.
Was it unrated on VHS? Because I remember it being really graphic. Especially when he shoots Murphy’s hand.
