Chris Pine stars in his own directorial debut about a pool cleaner who becomes an amateur sleuth after he discovers an elaborate plot to rob Los Angeles of its water.
Not much to go on but I found the photo and log line funny.

I considered this when it played at TIFF, but the listing for it really made me feel like it could end up being really cool or one of those ‘actor really wants to direct’ wankfests, so I didn’t want to risk $30-ish to find out. After that it was completely off my radar until you updated this thread, and based on those fairly unanimous reviews, it turned out to be the latter, so money saved!
