Movie Worlds-Visit one, Live in one...

So, was watching Blade Runner the other day and thought how cool it would be to be to be able to see that world for real, but it's not a place I would want to actually live in. So, it got me wondering what movie world I would actually like to live in.

So, what world would you like to visit for a short time where you would be safe and guaranteed to return and which on would you want to live in as a regular person, but subject to the rules of that world including the physics and logic of said world where you could stay a regular citizen or become like the hero/villain of that movie world.

I'd love to see the Blade Runner world but wouldn't want to live in it permanently because it would be too depressing. If I could live in one it would be the Original Trilogy world of Star Wars. I think I'd go the smuggler route and have adventures across the galaxy.

If I have to play by the rules of that world then I suppose I’d like to just visit the world of Avatar. Spend some time there and then head back home.

Choosing one to live in, I think it would be pretty cool to live in the Pirates of the Caribbean world. I always loved the world they created for the Disneyland ride and thought they did a great job recreating that atmosphere for the movies, particularly the first movie.

Visit . . . Hmmm . . .

Avatar would be interesting. The world of Harry Potter would be fun. Blade Runner would be a cool tourist stop. However, I think I would have to go with Willy Wonka's chocolate factory! Come with me, and you'll see . . . a world of pure high fructose corn syrup debauchery.

Live in . . . I'm a product of my generation. Star Wars.

Those are just my gut reactions, though.

I think it would be interesting to live on planet Naboo from the Star Wars films. Beautiful, peaceful, lots to explore.

As for a movie world to visit, maybe a quick hypersleep to LV-426 to see the sights, collect some samples, maybe find a nice pet who likes to cuddle and hug, then bring it back to earth.

That's my answer as well. Really the only fictional place I would actually give everything up to live in. Holodecks! Transporters! Risa!

Visit?
Middle Earth - would love to get a pint or two with some hobbits. Climb an Ent. Go jewelry shopping.
Pandora - who wouldn't want to visit? Even the land in Animal Kingdom is pretty incredible to see
Wakanda - The culture, the technology all of it.
The After life in Coco - Again this is just for a visit. So beautiful, so full of (after)life
La Casita in Encanto - I mean come on, who wouldn't want to visit a magic house that cleans itself.
Jurassic World - But time my visit to leave just as Jimmy Buffet is ordering double margaritas.
Zootopia - I can trade the microspeciesism if I can pet all the fuzzy denizens. (which I admit I would then be guilty of microspeciesism)

I love Star Wars but can't really think of too many places I'd like to visit. Maybe George Lucas did too good of a job making everything look worn and old lol.
Coruscant? No thanks, All that traffic and people seems like too much. Plus deathsticks? Come on now what is this the 70's?
Endor? Kashyyk? What kind of giant mosquitoes or other blood thirsty insects do they have in those forests?
Mustafar? ha...no
Geonosis? and be a gladiator contestant? No thanks.
Hoth? I'd just as soon see you in Hell.
Dagobah? I already live in Florida.
A casino planet? I don't gamble and I heard its gotten really dirty since all the horses got free and someone moved all the brooms somehow.
Alderaan? I've heard that lately their global warming is killer.
Bespin? I've already got enough problems with gas.
Dantooine? It's far too remote of a location for an effective vacation.
Yavin IV? I guess it would be okay. But it's just so hard to find.
Ahch-to? Lactose intoleratant
Toydaria? They don't take Apple pay.
Jedha? It's just not what it used to be. Visitors totally ruined it for the rest of us.
Naboo? I guess it would be okay, but it's basically earth but a whole half a planet with Jar Jars.
Scariff? Mon Cala? Kamino?
Batuu? WAY too expensive.
Tatooine? Navaro? Jakku? The desert, No thanks! Everyone say it with me now: I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and gets everywhere.

Star Trek TNG is a great answer. Jurassic Park would be fun to visit, although the stipulation of leaving before chaos is required.

I'd like to visit Star Trek and live in Pokemon. Both seem to have resolved most major (social, environmental, political, personal) problems, but offer vast new possibilites in terms of discovery and ways to live.

Hmm.. Pandora with the atmosphere that's toxic to humans? No thanks. I don't want to wear a breathing apparatus all the time I'm there or be stuck inside a ship just looking at things.
If I could visit a place for a week or two and immerse myself, it would be Logan's Run and I'll just glue a fake crystal to my palm. I could live in the Free Life game from Free Guy.

I wouldn’t mind visiting The Beach. I’d just have to get out of there before things got weird.

Pandora would definitely be with the stipulation of being in an avatar body. The generic military badguy had the right idea where everything is trying to kill you. And go all that way just to work for basically a mining town? No thanks. Or maybe eco tourism like the Pandora in Animal Kingdom.

Ain't Dantooine destroyed?

But Star Trek:NG Earth would be my permanent home.
Vacation would be The Shire from Fellowship of the Ring.

Yeah, ST:TNG is pretty utopian, I'd choose to live there.

The VR world of Ready Player One would be cool to visit. Choose whatever kind of "skin" you want and travel around to many different virtual worlds in the spacecraft of your choice.
