'Tallica At Sonisphere U.K.

And the return of The Big 4...

The Sonisphere Festival rumors have been in high gear and you know how we love our European summer vacations, so we're here to confirm that we will indeed be at Knebworth House to kick off the weekend on Friday, July 8, 2011!! Hanging with Anthrax, Megadeth, and Slayer last summer was just too much fun, so here we are doing the Big 4 shenanigans again and this will be the first time that we will all be on the same stage in the U.K.

Tickets for Sonisphere, Knebworth are now on sale. For tickets and more information, go to SonisphereFestivals.com.

Oh... and keep watching this space...

MORE Big 4!

One more Sonisphere show in France

Two firsts for this one . . . the first Sonisphere Festival in France and the first time the Big 4 will be on the same stage in France! Amneville, France to be exact, on Saturday July 9 for night number two of the weekend festival. You know the line-up, Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and 'Tallica for one more round of fun and games.

Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, December 21. Be sure to check SonisphereFestivals.com for all the details on exactly when and how to get 'em!

Warner Brothers plan the reissue of Garage, Inc, a well-received 1998 album of covers by Metallica, will be re-released as a 3LP set as well as a 6LP 180g, 45RPM-mastered Deluxe set. These are currently planned for March 1.

Lemmy Mania!

The Lemmy movie in theaters now and coming soon to a DVD store near you

It's certainly no secret that we have always been hugely inspired and influenced by Motorhead and have had the honor of sharing the stage with Lemmy on several occasions. Well now you can catch the spirit of Lemmy and Motorhead in a recently released film, "LEMMY" (full title "LEMMY: 49% Motherfucker, 51% Son of A Bitch"). The film is currently playing at select theaters (visit LemmyMovie.com for locations), and will be released on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download in the U.S. on February 15.

In addition to interviews with the four of us, the film also has footage of us playing with Lemmy in Nashville when he was kind enough to come hang at our show in 2009 . . . you can see a portion of "Damage Case." The DVD and Blu-ray have more than 4.5 hours of extras, including rehearsals of both "Damage Case" and "Too Late Too Late" and the full performances of both songs at the aforementioned show in Nashville. Those extras are mixed in 5.1 surround sound as is some of the Motorhead footage. That's not all . . . there are additional outtakes of us hanging with Lemmy and never before released footage from the infamous night in 1995 when we performed as The Lemmy's at Lem's 50th birthday in L.A.

The length of the extras and the release dates on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download does vary by where you live in the world. Here's what we know so far:

Germany: January 23
UK: January 24
Finland: February 4
Sweden: February 23
Norway: March 2
Canada, Japan and Australia: March

Keep watching LemmyMovie.com and here for more info!

Re: METALLICA: "Death Magnetic" discussion part 2

According to metallica.com and thebig4festival.com, there is one show this year in the US. One freaking show in CA. That's all. That sucks.

The Big Four Coming To The States
1/25/2011

California here we come!!!
You've probably heard us all say it . . . the vibe was just so incredible at last year's Big 4 shows that we can't stop now!! So we're finally bringing the love to our home turf on April 23, 2011 with 'Tallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax in Indio, CA at the Empire Polo Club (yes, the more observant of you will note that this is the same spot where the Coachella Festival takes place the weekend before).

It's true - this is indeed the only scheduled stop in America this go around, so we're hoping that you can head West to join us. Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 28 at 10 AM PST and Fan Club members can check MetClub.com for pre-sale and VIP package info.

For more info about the show, including ticket pricing and transportation information, check out TheBig4Festival.com

I gotta get tix!

Unless they're an obscene amount of $$$. Then I'll pass. Already saw Megadeth & Slayer last year, Metallica and Anthrax in 2008.

Edit: $99. Prob $150 after service fees. I'm on the fence.

Let's say it's $160. That's $40 a high quality, kick ass, band.

I can't go because it's Easter weekend. Plus I don't really want to do a 3 hour drive to the middle of nowhere. If they do Vegas or NYC, I'll fly out.

My brother got a set of VIP tickets through the Megadeth fan club pre sale so I'm going. I heard that the VIP tickets were only on sale for the pre sale to fan club members for the four bands, then were pulled before the gen admission tickets went on sale.

Re: METALLICA: "Death Magnetic" discussion part 2

Metallica To Enter The Studio In April

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich Danish has spoken to a Danish newspaper about the band’s plans for 2011…

On when the band plans on returning to the studio to begin work on the follow-up to 2008’s “Death Magnetic”:

“There’s a really good vibe in the band at the moment. In the past, we would be fed up with METALLICA whenever we returned home after a gigantic world tour, but this time it’s different. Therefore it won’t be that long before we start working on a new album. I think that we’ll probably already get the creative process going in March or April and go into the studio. We really want to get back to METALLICA quickly because we are enjoying it so much right now.”

On how the relationship between the METALLICA bandmembers has changed over the years:

“It helps our relationships that we’ve all got families and children and they all get along with each other. We really fucking like each other at the moment. There were a few years when things were really bad. We never really got to talk to each other; we would just grab a bottle of vodka and go out looking for girls. That meant that we weren’t sharing our feelings with each other. Today we talk a lot about our children and our families. And the fact that we have something to talk about other than tonight’s setlist is or if someone made a mistake during yesterday’s show makes a big difference. In the last five or six years, we’ve found out where our limits are and we’ve made some rules regarding METALLICA. That’s been necessary in order to make sure the entire thing doesn’t collapse. For instance, we have a rule that we cannot be on the road for more than two weeks at a time during the school year and we make sure that we spend two weeks at home before going back on tour. That prevents us from burning out and falling into the trap that you can sometimes fall into when you are tired and worn out.”

(Note: All original Danish-language quotes were translated into English by BLABBERMOUTH.NET.)

Funny how it says they're "going to enter the studio in mar or april", but if you read it, Lars says "I think that we’ll probably already get the creative process going in March or April and go into the studio."

Note the words: I THINK and WE'LL PROBABLY.

All speculation, folks!

Knowing how they operate, I'd say don't expect anything until 2013.

well yeah... even IF they go into the studio in march or april, they're going to be going into the studio to write songs. That'll last a year and then they'll spend 6 months recording. THEN the album will come out.

By they way, I just got the Fan Can #6 dvd. Great stuff!!!
