I thought she released a anniversary edition in 2005 with the acoustic album

I like her and own her albums but maybe now she is becoming desperate.

Re: ALANIS MORISSETTE: "Jagged Little Pill" 20th Anniversary -10/30/15

Or maybe it did since now it is being turned into a Broadway play written by Diablo Cody

Alanis Morissette's 1995 album, "Jagged Little Pill," became the unexpected soundtrack of a generation of young women who'd realized they didn't really fit into the box society was trying to put them in. It won five Grammys and sold more than 33 million copies worldwide, making it one of the most successful albums of all time. And now, 25 years later, "Jagged Little Pill" has been turned into a Broadway musical, with an original story by Oscar-winner Diablo Cody ("Juno").

Isn't it ironic? Morissette is one of the people who ushered in the '90s wave of insufferably whiny-voiced, shrieking female singers, but darn it if some of her songs on this album aren't catchy despite - or maybe because of - her awful caterwauling.

It will be interesting to see how well that sells, those are huge venues for someone out of the limelight for some 15 years or so.

Liz Phair just came out with a book. That could be an interesting tour.

I still keep some of these tracks in circulation in my iTunes playlists, I think they've aged pretty well. They're a product of their times, but still manage to capture timeless feelings.

She has done 6 albums since Jagged and some songs in movies so she has not been completely out of the spotlight.

I think Under Rug Swept from 2002 had some hit singles.

You do realize that 2002 will be 18 years ago when she tours in 2020?

While the tour is not coming to Houston, I checked out Austin and Dallas and they are near sellouts. I'm a fan of all three on the bill, but really wanted to see Liz Phair since here tours were so limited back in the day. The one time she was scheduled to come to Houston, something happened and that show was canceled.

Same here. I still listen to it every so often. IMO, it's one of the best produced, most cohesive albums I've ever heard.

Yea, I was a tiny bit surprised to see my local venue almost sold out. It is an amphitheater. I usually would buy a cheap lawn seat and do one of those Live Nation upgrades to be in the first 20 rows. But, I am not spending $60+ bucks on a lawn seat, nor am I going to spend $150+ on an actual seat. Insane to me. This type of venue does not warrant lawn seats being more than $30 or any seat being more than $100.

I think this is a great bill though, so I'll watch resale sites closer to the date. I'm actually more into the idea of seeing Phair and Garbage.

I'm surprised by how many tickets have sold, but reseller bots are factor along with the scalper priced Platinum seats that are offered. For bigger shows, you can always get good seats closer to the show. For some reason, the venue holds 100's of good seats that are released the week of the show at regular or even discounted prices. Just put a reminder into your calendar a week before the show that you are interested in, along with the Ticketmaster link, and then check it a few times a day and you'll get a great seat.

This has been the case of Live Nation/Ticketmaster inflating ticket prices.

I got in on the pre-sale for the Hollywood Bowl date, and got two seats for $60 each (I won't even get into the near $30 "service" fee for each ticket, which at almost 50% the price of a ticket was the highest I've ever seen), not cheap, but not terrible, and not the best seats, but not the worst. A few days later, just for shits & giggles (and also to see if better seats were available), I checked in on the regular sale, and holy fucking shit, tickets in my same section, just in the row behind me were now more than double the price!!!

I think what they do is use these pre-sale things to gauge interest/demand, and if it's high enough, they'll jack up prices for the main sale, when more seat are opened up.

And if demand is low (not for this show, obviously), they'll give tickets away near the date, because they can still make money off people being there, buying $20 beers and whatever.

Concerts are becoming such a fucking scam - each day, the line between the official ticket seller and the scalpers is blurring more and more.

The same thing happened with Motley Crue. I was looking at the $150 tickets... expensive yes... but they were VERY close and I was surprised that they weren't more. For four bands, I didn't think the price was that terrible. Then the price jumped to like $225 (not including fees). Forget that. I know dynamic pricing is their thing, but usually that doesn't start until it's been on sale for a bit.

Alanis Morissette Announces 'Jagged Little Pill' 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition

The new edition, arriving on June 26, pairs the original 13-track album, produced by Glen Ballard, with a new acoustic live album from Morissette's March 2020 performance at Shepherd’s Bush. The release comes following the album's 25th anniversary on June 13.

In celebration, the singer unveiled the live version of "Ironic" today (June 18). Plus, official music videos for the album's five landmark singles have also been remastered in 4K resolution. These revamped versions of “Ironic,” “You Oughta Know," “Hand In My Pocket," “You Learn” and “Head Over Feet” will debut over the next week on Alanis’ YouTube Channel,

That's not all. On June 28, fans can join a special screening of the Jagged Little Pill, Live documentary on the singer's YouTube channel at 12:30 p.m. ET. The 1997 doc chronicles Morissette's 1995-96 world tour, featuring on-stage performances of every song from the album.

Is the strategy now to keep re-releasing Jagged Little Phil if people don't buy the new stuff?
