Re: A to Z of bands you have seen Live

Buckethead (4 or 5 times)
Down
Metallica
The Sword

I'm not a concert going person, the bottom 3 were all the same show and The Sword was my favorite band at the time so a chance to see them open for Metallica was enough to get me out of my comfort zone.
Buckethead shows are a religious experience for me so I go see his show any time he comes to New Orleans.

Re: A to Z of bands you have seen Live

This is a good idea for a thread.

I don't care how it's done on Twitter. I'll write what I like! I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel!

I'll post some all of the concerts I remember, even though I don't remember them all, some are likely local or regional enough people don't really know them, and/or some were at music festivals or openers for the headliners but I'll count them anyway. I'm also organizing this with last names for the letters, as that's how I try to organize my music database at home. I'll even put up the concerts I'm not super proud that I went to, including all those 90s Christian rock bands that aren't my cup of tea today!

A Audio Adrenaline
B Beck, Frank Black, Better Than Ezra, The Bloodhound Gang
C Citizen Cope, Cracker
D DC Talk
E
F Ben Folds (2), Fountains of Wayne, Furside, Nelly Furtado (2)
G Gear Daddies, The Goo Goo Dolls, Grand Buffet
H Har Mar Superstar, Johnny Holm Band
I Idlewild, Incubus
J Jars of Clay, Jim Rose Circus
K
L Lo-Pro, Mary Lou Lord (2)
M Nick Mason (of Pink Floyd), Melvins, MGMT (2), Moby (3)
N Carrie Newcomer, New Order, Nine Inch Nails
O Paul Oakenfeld, Of Montreal (2), The Okee Dokee Brothers, Outkast
P Pearl Jam (5), Tom Petty, Poolside
Q Queens of the Stone Age
R Reverend Horton Heat, The Roots
S Sean Na Na (3), Semisonic, Danny Shafer, Jake Shimabukuro (2), Sleater-Kenney, Michael W. Smith, Smashing Pumpkins (3), Spooncat! (3), Staind, Static X
T Tenacious D (2), Toadies, Tycho
U Unknown Hinson

Re: A to Z of bands you have seen Live

I had to go through my old concert tickets to make my list.

It's actually quite surprising how many acts I've seen that start with either the letter "M" or "S."

To compile the list, I went with either heaviest, most interesting, or most out-of-my-circle act. So I went with Ice T over Iron Maiden for I, and Hank III over Hatebreed for H.

R could have easily been Rush or Rolling Stones, but I went with Rush. And F could have been Foo Fighters, but I went with Forbidden because I forgot I had seem them until I saw my old ticket (they opened up for Death Angel on their "Act III" tour, which was a really great show and brought back some memories).

Same for me, as well. I could have included Dire Straits, Supertramp, Buddy Guy, Rodriguez, Sting, Neko Case, and Gordon Lightfoot instead, to name a few.

Yeahhh!!!!!

Jim Rose Circus
I didn't know we could count them as they aren't really a "band". I saw them twice, once opening for Nine Inch Nails and once at a local university (that show was crazy, they came right out into the audience, it was a smallish auditorium and did some acts that probably would have gotten them arrested for indecency at the arena NIN show ).

Can I count seeing Paul Stanley performing in Phantom of the Opera? That was pretty cool.
