Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

Too bad the bonus song isn't also on the CD. I have resisted getting into vinyl as I know how I am...

Re: Star Trek Paramount Plus shows on Blu-Ray

How is Strange New Worlds? I love the campiness of TOS--does it try to capture that at all?

Re: PRINCE: Diamonds And Pearls (Super Deluxe Edition - 7 CD + BLU-RAY) - October 25, 2023

Re: The Mandalorian: The Complete First & Second Seasons - 4K UHD and Blu-ray

I did the same. They will ship them out as they release as well, they don't wait until they're all available like some online stores.

Re: The Official Box Office Discussion Thread

Little Mermaid and Super Mario must have had their theater count raised to take advantage of the $4 showings as they had big spikes in their numbers this weekend.

Re: National Cinema Day -- $4 movies on Sunday, Aug. 27

One thing I wish Hollywood would take as a lesson from this is to offer extremely discounted prices for young kids when accompanied by an adult. It costs a fortune when you have to buy tickets for...

Re: Prey (2022, D: Trachtenberg) -- Predator prequel

Just got an email from the Disney Movie Club that they are releasing WandaVision as well as Mando Seasons One and Two.

Re: Movies that were filmed over such a long period of time that the lead actors/actresses noticeably age

Off topic I suppose, but I think the show gets much better once you reach the episodes with Sean Patrick Flanery. I think the kid ones have a certain charm to them but they're definitely not for...

Re: River Wild - remake (2023) - S: Brody, Meester, Killam

My wife and I love the original and we are suckers for the mountains so we gave this a watch (thanks for the tip on it being on Netflix). Honestly, I didn't think it was too bad and was entertaining...

Re: Blue Beetle (2023, D: Soto) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

I really enjoyed this--the family angle was well done and made this stand out. I like Xolo on Cobra Kai but wasn't sure he could pull this off, but he did well. I brought my hyperactive boys (ages 10...

Re: Prey (2022, D: Trachtenberg) -- Predator prequel

Best I can do for you is the complete run of Salute Your Shorts from Nickelodeon and the Despecialized Editions of Star Wars. Neither one of those worked to get a formal release, though!

Re: Prey (2022, D: Trachtenberg) -- Predator prequel

Almost pulled the trigger on Andor, to be honest, but decided to hold off. My apologies!

Re: Prey (2022, D: Trachtenberg) -- Predator prequel

Everyone who wanted this can thank me, as I finally gave in and ordered a bootleg copy the other day just because I wanted this for my collection as a long-time Predator fan.

Re: Indiana Jones & the Dial of Destiny (2023, D: Mangold) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

The official story was he wanted to do Westside Story and Fabelmans. Which is probably true but I also think his heart just wasn't in it anymore.

Re: Screen Actors Strike 2023

My understanding is that podcasts are OK as long as you're not promoting a current project.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

Eh, Garth Brooks has mastered the art, and Michael Jackson wasn't bad at it, either. I probably have the big 3 from Thriller on 7 or 8 discs now since I am an idiotic completist that will buy...

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (4K UHD + BD) - 8/1/23

Really enjoyed the commentary on this. A few things: I didn't realize that Sean Gunn was doing Rocket's voice in a couple of the early scenes of him when he was very young (Gunn also was the stand-in...

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

Damn, the new Fearless has sold 1.81 million units since release (compared to 500K of the original since the new one dropped) while the new Red has sold 3.32 million units compared to 390K of the...

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

It would probably still sell a million copies or so with not much push so she might as well get it out there.

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 (2023, D: Gunn) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

The first Groot died in Volume One, this is a new one grown from the old one.

Re: Suicide Squad (Ayer, 2016) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I am all for them as long as they don't lock up the theatrical release the way Lucas did with the Star Wars trilogy. Let the viewer decide which they prefer.

Re: Suicide Squad (Ayer, 2016) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

That is what he claims along with a full score that doesn't use any pop songs like the theatrical release.

Re: Suicide Squad (Ayer, 2016) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I didn't hate Solo but yeah I wouldn't mind seeing that, either.
