I then called up the BN automated order status line. Everything seemed fine until I heard that the amount was being charged to my credit card! It then repeated the last 4 digits of the credit card. 8001. I only have 2 cards and neither end in this number.
I called BN back up and they said that my order was replaced and the credit card # is a BN CC # and it will allow the order to be processed, and no charges would be placed on my credit card.
Hope this helps guys. Don't give up. Keep calling, and calling, and calling until you get your order back.

I again asked what the factors were in determining who got their orders reinstated (date of order, amount of FLOOZ, etc.) but unfortunately she was clueless. As LostHiWay posted, don't give up and keep trying!

bhauge or LostHiWay,
Could either of you post a copy of the email or perhaps send me a copy ([email protected]) so that I could have some leverage when I call them again?

Question:
Why should Barnes and Noble send out your orders if they were never paid for? For example: They subtracted the Flooz from your account; however, they never actually received the money or cash from Flooz. How is this a basis for a lawsuit? If they did receive the money from Flooz, then you do have a valid position. This is probably what they are trying to sort out right now.
Fact:
Flooz is not legal tender; therefore, you may only have recourse with Flooz. Meaning you did not deal with Barnes and Noble in legal tender therefore you have no rights.. (assuming your order was never paid, subtracting Flooz from your account is meaningless)
Rather than saying how dumb people are that don't see things your way, it would be nice to have someone explain why anyone would even think they have a right for a lawsuit.

Well my original order was cancelled and I've received an email saying my flooz will be reinstated in my account. The email flat out said that since flooz didn't pay them they were charging me. I emailed my BN contact again although he hasn't responded to the last 2 emails. Things are looking bad again for me.

And I was very glad to know that there were other letters on the matter there. I'd recommend maybe voicing your opinion on PlanetFeedback. If enough people do it, and enough people in government receive note of this, they might get the idea that something's wrong.

It was up to B&N to ensure that they were paid before confirming the orders. It seems as if they made assumptions and confirmed people's orders before they had actually seen the money from Flooz; an organisation B&N had promoted as part of its own marketing strategy.
If B&N decided to accept and promote something that wasn't legal tender and confirm orders by email without having ensured that they would be paid I think they are going to find it hard to refuse to honour any order placed and accepted before Flooz's demise.
NB) I don't use these fake currencies, personally. One day I might lose out if/when Amazon.com crashes and I've not cashed in all of my Vividence GC payments. A different situation in several respects and one where I would have no argument with Vividence and every argument with Amazon.

Well after another call and another manager, I have a new order number and it looks like it's a go. For those of you who have gotten new orders, did your new confirmation email look similar to this:

Nevermind I called the number and got that the credit card used was the 8001 Mastercard from Barnes and Noble. Looks like I'll be getting it. As others have said keep calling and emailing. I called once a day and emailed at least 2-3 times a day. I think they got sick of dealing with me.
Good luck to those who have not yet received a new order. Thanks to everyone in this thread for all the helpful advice and information.

Well I just got off the phone with a B&N CSR at 10:14 on Saturday and he said that Flooz would be back up on monday and that I should call back then and they would reinstate my order so thats what I am going to do.
So I guess we wait till Monday and see what happens, or keep calling.

But, FYI, Flooz said last week that they would be back Monday. If they do come back, I will be one surprised shopper. Just think about it, who is going to take Flooz as a payment option? I just can't see it happening. But if it does, I guess it's good news.
