FINALLY GOT MY ORDER REINSTATED!!!!

The next day the manager that was suppose to call never did, but at about 7pm (est) I got an email with a new order number for my Godfather Collection. The total was for $80.93. I then called up the BN automated order status line. Everything seemed fine until I heard that the amount was being charged to my credit card! It then repeated the last 4 digits of the credit card. 8001. I only have 2 cards and neither end in this number.

I called BN back up and they said that my order was replaced and the credit card # is a BN CC # and it will allow the order to be processed, and no charges would be placed on my credit card.

Hope this helps guys. Don't give up. Keep calling, and calling, and calling until you get your order back.
I had exactly the same thing happen to me. The email with the new order showed $80.93. When I called about it, the CSR said that it was being charged to a MasterCard and the last 4 digits are 8001. I thought this was particularly funny since I don't have a MasterCard! She went offline for awhile and when she came back, she said that it was being charged to a B&N Corporate CC, but that my CC would only be billed for the correct balance after deducting the FLOOZ and the $10 credit.

I again asked what the factors were in determining who got their orders reinstated (date of order, amount of FLOOZ, etc.) but unfortunately she was clueless. As LostHiWay posted, don't give up and keep trying!

bhauge or LostHiWay,

Could either of you post a copy of the email or perhaps send me a copy ([email protected]) so that I could have some leverage when I call them again?

Please post so we all can get leverage. Time is short.

Thanks,

bhauge or LostHiWay, could you please email me a copy too? ([email protected]) It would be very nice to have a number to refer to if they refuse to honor my order again.

Question:

Why should Barnes and Noble send out your orders if they were never paid for? For example: They subtracted the Flooz from your account; however, they never actually received the money or cash from Flooz. How is this a basis for a lawsuit? If they did receive the money from Flooz, then you do have a valid position. This is probably what they are trying to sort out right now.

Fact:

Flooz is not legal tender; therefore, you may only have recourse with Flooz. Meaning you did not deal with Barnes and Noble in legal tender therefore you have no rights.. (assuming your order was never paid, subtracting Flooz from your account is meaningless)

Rather than saying how dumb people are that don't see things your way, it would be nice to have someone explain why anyone would even think they have a right for a lawsuit.

Well my original order was cancelled and I've received an email saying my flooz will be reinstated in my account. The email flat out said that since flooz didn't pay them they were charging me. I emailed my BN contact again although he hasn't responded to the last 2 emails. Things are looking bad again for me.

Well I needed some MyPoints to get me up to 3000 to cash out, so I decided to let PlanetFeedback know about this little fiasco, earning me 50 points and getting some higher up people in on this matter (the CEO of the website is getting it). And I was very glad to know that there were other letters on the matter there. I'd recommend maybe voicing your opinion on PlanetFeedback. If enough people do it, and enough people in government receive note of this, they might get the idea that something's wrong.

Very good idea. I doubt it will do much good but at least it will help keep people from shopping there.

Yep make sure to make your complaints public on the site! I'm actually getting automated replies from the congressmen and senators that Planet Feedback CCed my letter to!

A breakthrough!

For me, at least.

After days of bitching and moaning, BN finally reinstated my
order and will cover my flooz payment portion with their
company CC.

Don't give up

Guys be sure to make note of this in your Planet Feedback letters - I did. Some people get their orders reinstated, some don't. Arbitrary customer service...hmmm, radical idea!

NB) I don't use these fake currencies, personally. One day I might lose out if/when Amazon.com crashes and I've not cashed in all of my Vividence GC payments. A different situation in several respects and one where I would have no argument with Vividence and every argument with Amazon.

Well after another call and another manager, I have a new order number and it looks like it's a go. For those of you who have gotten new orders, did your new confirmation email look similar to this:

We have received your request to pay by phone.

For future purchases, you may want to consider using our completely safe and secure site, fully backed up by our "Shopping Guarantee"

Easy Steps to completing the Automated Pay by Phone Order:

1. Call our Customer Service Center, 1-800-The-Book (1-800-843-2665). If calling from outside the U.S., call 1-201-272-3651.
2. If calling from a touch-tone phone, Press 1. If calling from a rotary phone, please hold for the call to be transferred to a Customer Service Representative.
3. If you would like to place a new order or complete your pay by phone internet order, Press 1.
4. Enter your Numeric Order #.
5. Enter your Zip Code.
6. Enter the Card Card Number.
7. Enter the four digit Expiration Date on your Credit Card. Your order will be completed.

It has the total order price there and then says no payment method available. Is this how it is supposed to look?

Nevermind I called the number and got that the credit card used was the 8001 Mastercard from Barnes and Noble. Looks like I'll be getting it. As others have said keep calling and emailing. I called once a day and emailed at least 2-3 times a day. I think they got sick of dealing with me.

Good luck to those who have not yet received a new order. Thanks to everyone in this thread for all the helpful advice and information.

Congrats. Since they told me my orders are still "open" I'm not going to waste my time until they either cancel my orders or release date comes with no arrival of my DVDs. Boy, I don't look forward to that day if it happens.

Well I just got off the phone with a B&N CSR at 10:14 on Saturday and he said that Flooz would be back up on monday and that I should call back then and they would reinstate my order so thats what I am going to do.

So I guess we wait till Monday and see what happens, or keep calling.

I hope you're right.

But, FYI, Flooz said last week that they would be back Monday. If they do come back, I will be one surprised shopper. Just think about it, who is going to take Flooz as a payment option? I just can't see it happening. But if it does, I guess it's good news.
