It seems most of the people on here have had problems with orders not being shipped for a long time. I was wondering if anyone has had an order that they say has been shipped for over a month not received. Since they said my order was shipped over a month ago, I don't know how to prove I didn't get it. Has anyone had to wait over a month after the order has been shipped to receive it? If so, how long did you wait, and if you never got it at all, what did you do?

I'm very surprised, but my Simpsons sox set arrived yesterday (thursday), less than a week after they said they shipped it. It used airmail for the extra dollar, which might be the key to getting orders on time. However, the anxiety caused by this order was in no way worth the extra couple bucks I saved. I really don't think I will order from them again as I consider this time just lucky.

I pre-ordered my Simpsons set on 8/30/01, order status showed it shipped on 9/20/01 (until then it showed up as a backordered item), I received it on 9/28/01. I chose ground shipping. It arrived from Michigan to Virginia. The postmark is MI while the return address is Canada.

I had Ordered The Simpsons Season 1 from Playcentric.com on the 15 Sept they charged me upront $23.50 US ($46.00 AUS) sent on the 21st or 24th September and recived on the 28th September. I live in Australia

BIG Thumbs Up

I placed a BIG order last week from Playcentric.com for lots of preorders, the French Connection box set, the Simpsons season 1 and loads more. There were a few DVDs, in addition to the pre-orders, that they said were on backorder. Today I received every single DVD I had ordered except the pre-orders and backorders. I'm very happy, considering every DVD was $2 off (and the French Connection box set was $3 off).
Of course the order isn't finished with them, because the Godfather trilogy and the Walt Disney Treasure tins still have to come out... I was expecting the worst, and it turned out very well.

I wouldn't be so worried about my order if it was on back order or pre order. Atleast that way, they know you haven't gotten it yet. I am afraid my order was lost in the mail or not shipped, but marked as shipped by mistake at the company. I don't know how to prove I didn't get it. They said it shipped in Aug. Does anyone know how to go about trying to dispute the charge with the credit card? Does anyone know if playcentric stands behind orders that didn't arrive? When I write, they tell me to give them more time to come. I hope someone can help me out with what I should do. I have never had anything like this happen before.

Cats:

Contact you credit card company and explain the situation, they should either refund or 'suspend' the charge and will contact the business. Just tell them you have not received the product you ordered. Who's the guy who informed us of Playcentric??? I think we need to get a rope....

Thank you. I will call the credit card and see what they do about it. The order was over a hundred dollars. I hope I get it back.

Yea, I agree with getting a rope.

I can finally answer "yes" to that question!

Today I got another shipment from Playcentric. I could focus on the fact that I finally got the Goonies, which is extremely late, or the Simpsons, which is almost a week late, but I also received Terminator, which is one day early.

Now I have some faith that I may get the Fawlty Towers box set sometime near the release date, at least.

I'm not really sure about Playcentric now. One one hand, a lot of my order arrived significantly past release date. On the other hand, the prices were fantastic. The Simpsons box set was $18.01. The Fawlty Towers box set was under $30.

I think I probably will order from them again, as long as I don't mind waiting for my order, or until the Rocketcash 20% off expires. I'm not sure I'd recommend them, but I'll likely use them again.

After writing some negitive posts about Playcentric, I felt I owed it to them for their reputation to post this. I decided this morning to write them one more time about not getting the dvd's they said they shipped in August, before I called my credit card to dispute the charges. My letter was real nice, like all my letters have been, and I just told them I had still not received my dvd's. I got a response within an hour from them. They said they are resending the order to me at no extra charge at all. I am really impressed, since it is such a big order. I didn't even tell them I was getting ready to dispute the charges. Now I feel like I can trust them and order again. Of course I'm waiting until I actually do get the order. I didn't want my posts to be the ones stopping anyone from ordering, since they did the right thing by me. I know there has been alot of other people having different problems with them, but I wanted to let people know what they do about an order that never arrives, so they don't have to go through all the stress I did about this. I will post when I get my order.

I don't Know

Hi..

I placed an order for The simpsons box set on the 27th of September, there was no indication on the website that it was on "backorder" at the time. I immediately came here and saw all the negative posts against this website and decided to start looking for the signs. About an hour after I placed the order, I sent them an e-mail stating that I had changed my mind and wanted the order cancelled. Waited three days and no response, Sign #1. I then checked the order status and it had not been processed or placed on backorder and my credit card had not been charged. I sent another e-mail stating that I once again wanted to cancel my order. Waited another 24 hours and still no response. I checked the status one more time and now it stated that it was on backorder, I called my bank and they confirmed that the order was already charged to my account, Sign #2. I then came here and saw the number placed in the above post and decided to call. I spoke to someone by the name of Sylvester who said he was in Bermuda and was CEO of "one of the companies" playcentric being one of the many companies. He assured me that he will cancel the order and credit my account today. He said that if I did not receive my money back in a couple of days to call him again, I also asked him to e-mail me some type of confirmation indicating that the order was indeed cancelled. If I don't receive an e-mail by tomorrow than i will continue to call him. I suggest anyone who has the same problem to call this guy and demand for your money back. This is not a credible business and should really be shut down. I am debating whether to go ahead and file a complaint against the Better Business Bureau, but I will wait and hope that my money is returned.

My Experience....

I just received my Edward Scissorhands SE DVD that I ordered 9/6 and it was in perfect condition!
It took roughly, 3 weeks to receive my item. I suppose the 42 cent postage sticker on the bubble mailer explains why it took so long. Anyways...my advice to all of you is...have patience and you will receive.
I just hope my pre-orders don't take this long!!!
I would probably buy again from them.

They are in barbados. The BBB has no authority there.

Have You Received Your Playcentric Orders?

I got the die hard set after 3 weeks, but the simpsons preorder has yet to come in, and the rocketcash/playcentric thing won't let me check my order status. not to mention, they already charged my credit card for the preorder titles, like star wars.

PLAYCENTRIC SUCKS @$$!!!

has anyone else got their simpsons who preordered?

Yes, I just got my Simpsons pre-order today. Albeit, later than the release date, but I'm willing to sacrafice that for the savings.
One thing I disliked though was the fact that they sent me the DVD in a "Econo" Bubble Wrap Mailer.

puppetmaster,
To check the order status, you have to first sign in through Rocket Cash web site, then click on any pictures that link to PLAYCENTRIC.COM. When PLAYCENTRIC website shows up, just click on "Display order Info " button located on the left side.
Good luck.

yup.

had to wait a few weeks, but die hard box ($40) and edward scissorhands ($12) both made it to me in good shape.

no complaints here for the price.

i would still order from them, but i wouldn't preorder anything from them that i really really wanted on or near street date.

YMMV

Same here S L O W service, ordered PREDATOR (DTS) over 23 days ago - no show!!!! On the plus side, I did get two out of the three titles I ordered. So much for cheap prices and no product. I also object to them hitting your credit card before they ship the product....... Probably not again, I have Repo Man in my basket for $12.xx, but doubt I will ever see it.

I got my FC Box set on Friday. I sent them an email when all the worrying was going on and they responded in a couple of days telling me it had been shipped and that Godfather should ship as soon as possible. We will see.

Playcentric.com is DEFINITELY not the place to order from if you want your DVD ASAP. I ordered "Die Hard" from them (not the set, just the first one) and it took 20 days from when I ordered for me to get my DVD. But the price was right and it's not like they aren't up front about their delivery time. They do say Surface mail take 8-14 BUSINESS Days. Charging your credit card before shipping is a bad practice. But if you get your DVD, what's there to complain about?

In short, order with caution and patience.

Hey speedy1961, have the leaves changed color yet (I grew up in Woodbridge, by the way)?

when i try to login through rocketcash and go to playcentric and put in the order number it says:

Sorry, we are unable to proceed further. Please correct the following error:
You are not a registered customer. Please check your e-mail address and password again.

and i can't change the info in the email and passwork fields because rocketcash fills them in for me and they are not editable.

Playcentric

At this point, I would have gladly purchased the Simpsons at Circuit City or Target, or wherever, just so I could actually have my DVDs ...

Interestingly enough -- Playcentric charged my credit card on Sept. 4 ... When I contacted customer service, they said that my set was sent out on Sept. 21 ... It's Oct. 2 and still no discs ...

Anyone know where they are located?

Mike
