DVDmode - Talk about Great customer service!

In the past month or so I have placed a number of orders with dvdmode.com and I have been extremely pleased with the prices and the quality of service.

I e-mailed them on the evening of the 13th to inform them that one of the titles on the order I received Saturday was damaged. Here is their response to my e-mail.

No problem Jon,

We will ship you a new "Stealing Beauty" with your recent order. As you know "Behind Enemy Lines" will not be released until April 23rd. You will receive a notice when your order has been shipped.

We apologize for the inconvenience and do not expect that you return the damaged title. Normally, we would ask that the damaged DVD be returned but we realize that you have been an outstanding and reputable customer with us and would like to relieve you of this inconvenience.

Thank you for you business Jon. We value your comments or suggestions, please feel free to send us any feedback.

With kind regards,

Marisa

I thought I would share this with everyone, as I can think of very few businesses that would go out of their way to show a customer they appreciate their patronage.

Thanks dvdmode for your outstanding customer service!

Jon .

I just got off the phone with their customer service dept. I had ordered 2 titles, but it didn't subtract the shipping total. I called them and they fixed it right on the spot. Very friendly. This was my first order with them. So far I am very pleased.

Me too.

Placed my first order 12 days ago and got it last week.

Donnie Darko however was damaged (layer change pixellation problem) and contacted them.

They advised me that they were sending a replacement, for me to return the DVD at my earliest convenience and they were giving me $3.00 off a future order.

Needless to say, I'll be placing my second order shortly.

I pre-ordered a couple DVDs from them a few days ago (with a release date of 5/7), and my credit card has already been charged.
Is this a common practice with DVDmode, or should I worry about them charging me twice?

This seems to be a common practice with many Canadian etailers. It is for this reason (among others) that I won't shop at DVDBoxOffice.com.

From my experiences with them, I believe DVDBoxoffice.com to be one of the few canadian e-tailers who NOT charge your card the moment you order.

DVDMODe

I have also been very pleased with DVDMODE's customer service, i placed orders for Mulholland drive and nightmare before Christmas and they came in atimely manner. I also got promt email responses from the company when I forgot to put information in my order. Good job DVDMODE. I just placed an order with playcentric, so hopefully my luck holds.

I had a good experience on my first order with DVDmode.

I ordered 2 "Canadian exclusive" DVDs on 4/22, for shipment to the U.S. Their free shipping on 2 DVDs offer was applied even though they're in Canada.
I received the discs today, on 4/27, five days.

Also, their online inventory system seems to be accurate, because one of the titles showed only 1 in stock when I ordered. After I confirmed, I went back and it showed the title as out of stock.

I can happily recommend dvdmode. I ordered Godfather and Tombstone when both were on special and got a great price and quick shipping at a reasonable cost. Super service.
