My 8.99 Mythos Cancelled @ Amazon

Well, it took six months... but Amazon finally cancelled my $8.99 order of Joseph's Campbell's Mythos. Did anybody actually get this at that price? I had my fingers crossed... oh, well...

Does anyone know if they will honor the order if they ever get it in stock?

I got mine. About a week after ordering I think. Usually miss out on the price mistakes but in this case I finally got a break. Sorry to hear others weren't so lucky. There's always the next deal ;-)

I ordered it, they shipped it, and had it in my hands in less than a week.

Sorry to hear some didn't get it though.

I actually got mine about a week after ordering way back when.

Sooo did anyone get Sleeping Beauty when it was on the site a month or so ago? Mine was just delayed again and I don't expect to ever see it.

Anyone not that interested in keeping it (and making something of a profit) can contact me, BTW.

My previous post from last month:

I have been a loyal and happy customer of Amazon for many years. This has been the first negative experience I have had with the company. I ordered on Dec 9th. Many people who ordered after me received a copy. I received delay notification after delay notification until 4-1 when i received a cancellation because "we will not be able to obtain the item." That same day, I called their customer service. I explained that I had placed the order in December and it was cancelled, but I saw that it was still available on the website and said it would ship in 4-6 days. The CSR said that she did not understand why that would happen and apologized for the lengthy delay and offered to submit a new order. I asked if she would be able to adjust the price and she said that she would. I placed the order and she modified it after submission. She ended up charging me $9.98 total. I did not quible over the extra dollar. On 4-7, I received an email saying there was a delay with the order, but did not ask me to make any approval like the delays on the first order. On 4-12, I received a shipping notification and today I received Mythos. Obviously, the first order should not have been cancelled because they were "unable to obtain the item." Any time I have ever had a problem with an order, a CSR has set things right. I am disappointed that they filled orders that were placed after mine while I waited and that they strung me along for 4 months and then cancelled for no good reason. But ultimately, Amazon came through for me.

Well, they didn't come through for me! I placed my order on December 8th and didn't receive my cancellation notice until May 14th. If Amazon had claimed 'misprice' and cancelled all orders I would have been okay with that (not happy, but okay). The fact that they strung me along for over 5 months and fulfilled numerous orders placed after mine, means that they'll no longer get any of my business in the future. Along with Best Buy and Coconuts, Amazon's now on my 'permanently banned' list

Well, at this time, it is no longer available for purchase new. At least that leads credence to their claim that they are unable to attain it.

Yeah, I think you've got to give Amazon a pass on this one. I had several backorders from that sale--including the Margaret Cho box set. It too over 2 months, but eventually arrived.

I agree. I had my order canceled also (after approving many many delays), but I'm still appreciative of getting Dinner for Five, Power of Myth, and Cinemania for $8.99 each during that sale. If I got Mythos, it would have been a great bonus, but all things considered, I gotta let it go.
