Well, anyone have info on Amazon and their policy on shipping preorders? Will it even go out before Tuesday? If it doesn't, Amazon will lose respect points.
I should have gotten it from 800.com, they are by far the best online retailer for electronics.

From past experiences, they we ship on the release date. I have Lost World preordered on amazon, and Jurassic Park on 800.com. I already got shipping confirmation from 800.com, but I don't expect to see amazon's til mid next week.

We will probably not see these titles shipped from Amazon until Tuesday at the earliest so you should see your movie by the end of the week!!! ![](http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif)
Also remember there is no mail delivery on Monday!!!

Amazon has never been too quick on any order. They aren't slow, they just aren't fast like some stores (buy.com for example). I usually expect preorders to arrive two days after the official release date of the DVD(with standard shipping). So I am expected my copy of JP on the 12th.

I usually get my stuff from Amazon on Friday of the week that a movie is released. Not bad cause I never pay much for DVDs from Amazon anyway so I ain't complaining! ![](http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif)

For me, pre-orders usually ship the day before release, and Amazon almost always upgrades the shipment, so that I have it a day or two after release. I'm expecting to get the Jurassic Park Collection next Thursday.

Always get my releases from Amazon.com by Thursday (2 days after release date) but who cares when it is free. So far this year 225 free (clicking) dvds and counting.

When I ordered T2:Ultimate Edition and Braveheart from Amazon.com, one shipped the day before the street date, and one shipped on the street date. They both got here three days after they shipped.

My last 2 or 3 preorders from Amazon didn't even ship until at least 2 days after the release date. Somewhat annoying to anticipate the upcoming Tuesday and the realize that I won't get the movies until the following Saturday at the earliest.

Just checked on my JP DTS and it is still in the Set To Ship stage. So, I'll probably not get this until the end of the week, but it's no big deal. If I really wanted it on Tuesday I would have either bought it at Best Buy for $17.99 or payed more than the $6.97 I payed at Amazon and ordered it at a faster online retailer.

Well my order shipped this afternoon through UPS 3-7 business days (wow, no complimentary upgrade for once
). I'm counting on the Ultimate Toy Box arriving here next Tuesday...since I paid for Overnight Air shipping with GCs...it better well arrive here ON release date or I'm going to lose faith in Amazon. Really, I don't see why they can't ship out pre-orders the Friday before (Buy even ships out earlier than that) so that people actually get the items on or before Release Date.

My JP/LW 2-pack shipped this morning from Amazon. Although its UPS 3-7 day, the tracking page says it will be delivered tomorrow (Tuesday)!
Maybe I live real close to an Amazon DVD warehouse because I always get my DVDs from them ON relase day![](http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif)

To all of you whose Amazon pre-orders for today have already shipped, how were they paid - all CC, all GC, or a mix of both? I have a few pre-orders with them for today (all paid entirely with GCs), and all are still showing "items yet to be shipped." All my previous pre-orders with them (paid in full with GCs, as well) have shipped the dat before release, which I wasn't expecting this time, anyway, b/c of the holiday, but it's now almost noon on release day and they have yet to ship. That worries me.
Never mind, just checked the status on my order, and 4 of my pre-orders are listed as "usually ship in 2-3 days." My remaining pre-order, Jurassic Park, is in an order with Toy Story UTB with ship when complete order is ready chosen, so that won't ship until next week, either.
Ah well. It's all free, though, so I can't complain.

I take back everything I said. The 3-7 business days Amazon declared has turned out to be just one business day. I will have the DVD set when I get home...ON RELEASE DATE! Way to go, Amazon.

SirPablo,
do you know that you talk down on 10% of the human population, unless you mean that Amazon is a happy. But what you added below do not give any indications that you mean that Amazon is a good company. Thus, I would appreiciate if you would think about it in the future and keep the bigotry to a minimum at this message board. I am not trying to change your opinion, since you are entitled to think what you want, but you do not have to promote bigotry or prejudice here. I think there are other sites that can help you with promoting bigotry if you want to do that, but please do not use DVD TALK for this purpose.

What with Amazon shipping via UPS?
I know that I didn't choose UPS and most, if
not all, of my previous orders were sent
via USPS. My JP/LW DTS dvds were also sent
UPS but I'm positive had it been sent by
USPS, I have them today. Not so with UPS.
So again, why is amazon shipping UPS now?

Amazon tend to ship most discs USPS, but on box sets, they go UPS. I guess the box is too small for their normal USPS carrier. I believe they sent my T2 UPS as well since it's bit larger than normal.
