1965 was a great year. Between Jerry Lewis movies and those of Elvis, I had a full and fulfilling course of movies

Mine showed up in the shipped section. Netflix said they would be shipping the extra movies on 9/29.

Why bother advertising this when so many seemed to get no extra movies. On Reddit, a lot of people with only one disc subscriptions seemed to get more bonus movies like 2 or 3 than those who had been customers longer and had more discs out. And only one person said they got 7,most others said they only got 1 to 3 of the people that got them.

I guess I didn't get any extra discs then since I don't have anything in my shipped section.

Netflix plans to open brick and mortar locations

Quote from article:

"I think it's some kind of weird experiment that they probably will not do for very long."

Netflix aims to open a network of stores offering retail, dining and live entertainment that leverage its TV shows and movies.

"We know that our loyal customer base enjoys the TV and movie viewing experience at home. We began to question how we can add value to that viewing proposition. We thought, 'What if I could watch my Netflix TV shows and movies on a much larger screen with much better sound? ' Then we thought, 'What if I could purchase my favorite snacks, drinks, and foods to get a dining experience while watching my favorite Netflix shows?' We are launching the newest concept in the home entertainment industry ... a "Home viewing away from home viewing' experience! We are proud to introduce a never before thought of concept: The Movie Qwikster!"

I never did receive my final two “keeper” discs that supposedly shipped a month ago, let alone the possible extras. Not sure whether NF or USPS is to blame.

Do you use USPS Informed Delivery?

Is that the thing that shows you pictures of mail that’s arriving? The wife uses it but never mentioned NF discs.

Yep.

I guess I'd lean towards a NF problem.

Probably so, at this point. I once got discs a month late because USPS delivered them to a neighbor who had moved to another home and only visited occasionally, but that was a rare set of circumstances.

Re: RIP Netflix disc rental service 1998-2023

I did get the email back in Aug. or Sept. to opt into the ‘up to 10 free DVDs’ after their service was ended, but as of Nov 15 I’ve not received any disk other than the last one in my queue at the end of Sept. Also don’t know anyone or have seen any reports of people receiving free bonus disks.
Anybody have any updated info? If not, I’m suspecting it isn’t a thing that’s going to happen.

Re: RIP Netflix disc rental service 1998-2023

All the bonus discs showed up in queues immediately upon closure as being shipped. It basically sounds like a big gimmick for whatever reason, as there were very few people who actually received them.

Is it too late to return the discs you have at home?

You can keep them. The website is gone except for memories and a graphic.
